Still no update on the former Dispatch stations? Someone said that they’d be getting the graphics in March, but why wait so long?
Could it have something to do with computer systems & master control systems?
Look at what nexstar is dealing with in terms of former tribune stations..

Not a big fan of C Clarity, however anything is an improvement over KUSA's third street music package used between 1995-2009, that package was long in the tooth when it was retired.
I would hope they could go for "The Rock" or "NBC LA Groove", but it's tegna media so what am I thinking.

There is one thing I can't stand about News net. I can't listen to the sports segment when Bejoy Joseph is doing the segments he can't articulate, and runs his sentences together, it's annoying. I usually mute the sports segment when he's on..

Today at noon eastern they updated graphics & debuted their new studio. It appears bigger, and now they have a glass looking set.

This would be an improvement to KMGH, the graphics they have now have always seemed a little out of place to me. The current package feels like it was thrown together with not a lot of effort.
It would be nice to see a station group use more orange, yellow or green in a graphics package vs always blue & red, that gets boring.

KCDO-TV Dropped NewsNet Sunday October 6, 2019. NewsNet now has no Colorado affiliates.
-
Yes it is Live from 10:30 AM Mountain Time until 6:30 PM Mountain Time. There are only 11 stations that don't air it live and have it in overnight time slots, the overnight slots are on: WBRC-TV, WTHR-TV, WLOX-TV, WBNS-TV, WXIX-TV, WTOL-TV, KKTV, KFDA-TV, KHOU-TV, KGNS-TV & WOVA-TV.
Most of the stations that air it overnight appear to be Grey Television.

KUSA now has a sports podcast at 9NEWS.com, not something i would expect from Tegna but it's not bad. There first episode was about the Altitude Sports blackout. (There is a thread for that over in the sports section)

(Cross posted from the Out and About forum) On September 23, WKYC is changing their 6pm newscast from "Channel 3 News at 6" to "What Matters Most." Saw it in another promo.
There might be more changes on the air on that same day as the station is teasing in promos.
So maybe another newscast like KUSA's 'NEXT'

So effective this morning on DirecTV the CBSe feed is no longer WCBS it is now WUSA & the CBSw feed is no longer KCBS it is now KFMB.

KUSA Has E/I at 12:30PM on Fridays and that has only been since October. It's kinda weird.

Glad I don't have DirecTV anymore, I can get them over the air and through CBS All Access, it's the better way to go.
I have an over the air antenna, so all is good. They can keep it off of DirecTV for as long as they like.

KCNC Was pulled at Noon MDT today, they were in the middle of airing a promo for an upcoming newscast and it went off.
-
They say that CBS is blacked out on DirecTV/U-Verse I have DirecTV & KCNC is still on my line up (Around 1:50AM, MDT), Unless I missed something here..
Smithsonian & CBS Sports Network went off at 12:03 AM today.

When I took a look at the KREX/KGJT website nothing is mentioned about being blacked out by AT&T/DirecTV and even the DirecTV promise website dosn't mention KREX/KGJT. However the KXRM-FOX21 website has the banner at the top talking about getting blacked out. Weird.

KUSA added Cozi TV in December to it's digital sub channel (9.2) replacing Weather Nation TV. Today when I was out I noticed a billboard advertising Cozi TV on 9.2 & 25.3 Over the air & Comcast 249.
I also noticed an ad on the side of a bus stop promoting Cozi TV, why dosn't KDEN-TV just drop Cozi and just have it on KUSA?? The KDEN signal is very weak on the south side of the Denver Metro area, while KUSA's signal covers all of the metro. If I were NBC Universal I would just move it over and be done with it-put another Spanish sub on to 25.3.
I would think Tegna would be pushing for that to happen.

Did anyone see this on their website? http://yournewsnet.com/newsnet-breaks-ground-on-building-expansion/
They must be making $ if they can build more space. I think they might be doing better than we all think they are.

So wait KMGH has long stopped doing its 24/7 News Channel there on 7.4?
Yes they stopped that in 2014 around the time they launched "The NOW Denver".
-
KMGH has made some sub-channel moves on April 13th. KZCO-LD Aztecia America Colorado was taken off of 7.2 & replaced by Escape TV. On May 7th, 7.4 now has a blue screen saying programing is coming soon, i would assume this will be the new location for KZCO-LD? KZCO-LD & KZCS-LD are both listed in FCC docs as being licensed as of May 7th. Can anyone confirm or deny this? KTFD-DT meanwhile dropped it's .4 sub channel 5/7/19.

A post on the broadcasting subreddit says that KUSA's master control is soon going to be hubbed from TEGNA's centralcasting hub in Jacksonville. I did not realize KUSA still had in-house master? Wonder how that will work with all their translators.
I would have thought that KUSA & KTVD would have been hubbed out of Jacksonville a long time ago. Interesting! I wonder how that will affect DBL if at all?

I Saw on FTVLive this morning FTVLive BNC that some dude named J.C. Watts Jr. & his business partner Bob Brillante are starting the "Black News Channel" to be targeted at young African Americans, and it is to launch this fall on Dish Network, Comcast & Charter. I wonder if this will get off the ground or not? something tells me this is going to fail, but then again if NewsNet can do it why can't these folks. They have been planning for this since May 2017.
Their website say the headquarters & master control are going to be located in Tallahassee, FL, with bureaus in Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York City, L.A., Chicago & New Orleans.
Any one else think this logo kind of looks like Master Card's logo?

I know Tegna isn't as good as Gannett Broadcasting used to be, but I will say that some of their stations are usually on top of severe weather coverage. KUSA/KTVD, WXIA/WATL, WWL/WUPL do seem to be the first to have live streams up for severe weather coverage on their respective websites compared to other stations in the market. With that said, all Tegna stations could do a much better job at covering the NEWS than they do, to me it almost seems as if news coverage has become and afterthought and that's not good for anyone. As far as graphics go, this package they have on air now is really bland--I think they could have & should have done more.

TexasTVNews, what is KWGN going to drop to carry Court TV?
- THIS TV
- Comet
- Charge!
or will they launch channel 2.5. My guess would be they would drop charge!.

I noticed something today, at least on the sports highlights--a lot of video is coming from Fox Sports, NY1, & Suncoast News Network. (These are the credits i have seen at least). So they appear to be sourcing some of their own video.
10 minutes ago, C Block said:KCDO is on Comcast Cable channel 3 in Denver, though, so depending on how much time they're getting and when, then that's arguably their biggest affiliation agreement. KCDO wasn't added to the Comcast lineup until a few years ago, and it's not a channel that anyone seriously watches, but more people will probably watch it there than on some random subchannel on a rimshot station.
I think KCDO has a relatively decent size audience, they air re-runs of KMGH's newscasts. I'm thinking ABC 7 Denver might know more, ask them.

Here in Denver I have noticed in the past 2 weeks, that the TODAY show doesn't begin airing until 7:01AM because of commercials and with it's long into now it doesn't technically start until 7:02. Anyone else notice this slight delay?
