For example, KDVR|KWGN too. They have several issues. Marketing is just one.

What issues do KDVR & KWGN have??   Their ratings seem to be okay, esp KDVR..

What about his show? Who’s going to anchor “The News” tonight?

I think the news will be anchored from 30 Rock tonight it will be interesting to see how that works.    It could also be that Tyler Matheson or someone else just fills in over on CNBC.

  3.   One of my favorite packages was the December 1992- September 1995 graphics package that KCNC shared with WNBC.   I have always thought it was a clean look & way ahead of the other Denver stations at the time.                   KCNC-TV - Logopedia, the logo and branding site

Forgot to mention, I also enjoyed the 2005-2008 Aqua blue & white graphics package that WBBH used as seen here.

  4. I  think a big problem that the TODAY show has is that Comcast doesn't seem to have the same handle on what's going on day to day with the show.  I think when GE owned NBC, NBC NEWS was a much much better run organization.

  5. Altitude Sports & Entertainment, is still not available to Comcast & Dish Network customers in Colorado.  So no Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets or Colorado Mammoth games will be available unless you have DirecTV.   This is year #3 that Altitude hasn't been available to Comcast & Dish Network customers.

  6. What is up with the Audio tonight on Nightly News?   It's has been very low and hard to hear.  Then going to commercial at around the :15 min mark, you could hear Lester asking about the bad audio.

    It's bad tonight.

  7. It's going to be interesting to see just how well this new streaming service does, or if it's gone  after a year or so.  It would be cool to see a side by side comparison of FOX Weather with The Weather Channel, Weather Nation TV & AccuWeather.

It's good that they are being overseen by the news department, that should give it some credibility.

Man, who could forget what happened in Denver 25 YEARS AGO?

FALL 1995...That was the time Mile High City Television (matter of fact TV in ALL of Colorado) had changed forever.

9 became 4 of course. As you see here, NBC had moved from KCNC to KUSA. 4 became 7, because CBS moved from KMGH to KCNC. 7 became 9 because ABC moved from KUSA to KMGH. Indeed it was confusing, but it grew on some of us.

Along with the switch came changes in partner stations, especially in Colorado Springs. KOAA was a partner station to KCNC, seeing that they were both NBC affiliates. After the switch KOAA's partner station became KUSA. KRDO was partner station to KUSA, because both were ABC affiliates. But KRDO's partner station became KMGH and it still is today. KKTV and KMGH were partner stations (both were CBS affiliates), but now, KKTV's partner station is KCNC.

See how the BIG SWITCH not only affected Denver stations? ALL of Colorado TV changed forever

A little change to you listing here: KRDO & KUSA are news share partners, and KOAA & KMGH are now sister stations because Scripps purchased Cordillera Communications on May 1, 2019.

  9. Is it me or does Nexstar seem to be afraid of digital?  What I mean is, you don't see nexstar stations trying new digital things & live streaming appears to be very inconsistent across nexstar stations .   While KDVR did launch "FOX31 NOW" that is just an online stream & it's minimal effort at that, mainly traffic accidents, weather ect.

For example: KXRM has very little in the way of live streaming on it's website, it does stream all of it's newscasts but that is about it.   KREX & KFQX have no live streaming options available at there website.   Again inconsistent across there footprint.  I think that should be focus for Nexstar instead of pet projects like News Nation, which is a dumpster fire in of it's self.

@TServo2049@newsteam13 The WAFF/KUSA vocal campaigns brought back a memory. I have not heard this one in years. KLTV in Texas used the same vocals.  KLTV.... East Texas... USA... We're Proud of You (or) Proud of You. Heard it on a non-stop vocal campaign sampler years ago. Gets confusing here - maybe the vocal campaign preceded, by several years, the news package commission for KUSA in 1995? You can hear melody similarities on the nmsa USA NEWS montage - around :30-:54 and definitely around 1:25 and a few other places.

I personally believe the news package was created well before 1995 based upon the sounds and instrumentation which would back up the vocal campaign coming out in the 80's. Hope this may help in the answer, even if I'm wrong.

The "USA NEWS" package by non-stop that was used on KUSA was used only as a closer for the 6PM & 10PM newscasts.

The "KUSA 1995 News theme" wasn't used very long it was on-air from April 1995 (graphics refresh)--September 9, 1995 and used on the 4PM & Midday newscasts (11AM or Noon at that time), it was dropped as soon as KUSA took on the NBC Affiliation.
