  1. Toler's analysis and advice to couples seemed really deep and powerful in constrast to the more surface level common sense advice from Faith Jenkins and Star Jones. The program still retains the graphics and futuristic court set look it adopted since moving to Tyler Perry studios. Didn't like the look at first but it's grown on me. The previous set however, looked warmer and less washed out by lighting. Atlanta is a natural fit for the show, so much so that I had always assumed it was filmed there and not in LA.
  2. Star Jones has begun as the adjudicator on Divorce Court. She appears to be fitting into the role nicely. Judge Lynn Toler was the best, I wish Judge Mablean Ephraim could come off that low brow Byron Allen court show and return to Divorce Court.
  3. Ken Rosado filling in on a weekend!
  4. I haven't watched a lot of KTLA recently, but I hear it's not what it used to be? does the news expansion have anything to do with that? Facts!!!
  5. in this day and age, I sadly doubt the networks are going to put a canceled soap back on the air.
  6. Pre WABC Sandra Bookman at another major ABC station, WSB!
  7. Totally agree! *Cough* WSVN, KTLA, WPIX, WGCL, WBBH
  8. The Simpsons used to be a 7pm sydicaion staple on WNYW! Haven't seen it outside of overnights for a while now on some local stations. https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2022/09/daytime-broadcast-ratings-for-the-week-of-september-12-16-2022 The source, Soap Opera Netwerk (may be biased based on the name and audience) cites Neilsen in reporting that NBC News Daily did not have a great debut in the ratings. This is a transitional time. The soap bubble burst and talk shows became their replacement. Now the talk show bubble has burst and the news has become their replacement. So what happens when the news bubble bursts? Sitcom reruns and game shows on big three stations?
  9. Eyewitness News would have been the perfect branding for CBS O&Os had ABC not taken it.
  10. Soooo will the station still be branded as CBS 46 outside of newscasts?
  11. John is a solid political reporter and analyst. That role best suits him moreso than anchor.
  12. Cool! Didn't Marcia have a public affairs show back in the day aswell! Looks like WCBS looks like did local coverage for the first half hour of the the Queen's funeral at 5:30 AM, then went with network coverage. Their local news is on WLNY right now.
  13. Well dayum! That was unexpected! To think at one point Fox 5 had Lori Stokes, Greg Kelly (pre Lori), Sukanya Krishnan and Rosanna Scotto on the morning block alone. The well is really running dry these days at Fox 5.
  14. What did CNN have before American Morning? Personally CNN should just stick to hard news in the morning, maybe with an international slant. Whether that would be competitive with Morning Joe or Fox & Friends remains to be seen. Hopefully whatever they try isn't as opinionated as New Day.
  15. Elizabeth Vargas should be on a national morning show right now, sucks to see her on low tier daytime programming.
  16. Jennifer Hudson's new show has a pretty decent and wide looking set, one of the best these days I've seen next to Drew Barrymore. Her show was actually a pleasant surprise given the state of daytime. Her guest list does have a strong celebrity line up aswell. Sherri Shepherd's great personality was on display for her first show. It was less gossipy and moreso friends chatting than Wendy Williams. Jennifer's first episode seemed stronger but both shows have a lot of promise.
  17. Kenneth Starr died today at 76. Dannotchnewsvideos posted a compilation of reports from the early days of the Lewinsky Scandal. I suppose this is the new name for the JFK1963videos channel.
  18. NBC News Daily has the look and feel of an early morning headline newscast like America This Morning, Early Today or the CBS Morning News.
  19. You literally took the words right out of my mouth. The program looks and feels like an early morning national newscast. Random unknown anchors that differ based on time zone, and cheap lower thirds. To it's credit the program does look better aesthetically and graphics wise than GMA 3. It was very poetic that the final scene of Days of our Lives was interrupted by a special report, lol. What a lackluster finale that was for Days. No speech at the beginning of the episode thanking fans for the years of watching, or trying to usher them to Peacock. Just business as usual with no grand finale or excitement. As much as we hate on these replacement daytime shows, soaps have not been doing much to help themselves in the past few years.
  20. That video background has a little too much depth, too much going on. Again it's just more of the same: Trump, inflation, COVID and now the Queen. In this era of news saturation, it's every station clamoring to cover the same thing rather than aiming for some streak of uniqueness. I can't act like Days of Our Lives was in the best condition before it got taken off the air, but it will be missed. I wonder how long Dateline at 1 PM will last.
  21. 9/11/2002 coverage. looks like all big three networks ran an all day long retrospective on the attacks. NBC Townhall style coverage ABC Barbara Walters takes over coverage from Peter Jennings (9/14/01) at 3:30:05. Cool to see Barabara at the anchor desk in the 2000s.
  22. Shaw's former CNN co-anchor Judy Woodruff's PBS Coverage:
  23. Yup! I don't think Savannah is necessarily the answer for MTP. Plus how legitimate are these rumors that she and Hoda don't get along? What is it about the culture of Today --and NBC News entirely-- that always has hosts leaving in controversy? Kristen Welker wouldn't be bad. An outside face might also help the program.
  24. While the world mourns the Queen, this is also breaking today. RIP Bernard Shaw. https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/tv/2022/09/08/cnn-first-anchor-bernard-shaw-pioneering-black-journalist-dies-82/8023262001/ https://www.cnn.com/2022/09/08/media/bernard-shaw-obituary/index.html
  25. Presumably WCBS coverage of the Newark race riots (1967) https://youtu.be/4yUYaAiWZpw
