I often feel bad for late night news when the NFL broadcast pushes the news into the next morning but who is going to complain about extra football especially if it’s a particularly good game (as one might be if it’s ending an hour late)?
Last night's game is an example of a very tight game which could of went into overtime. It's good business for the NFL and for the O&O's that carry the game. I could see the problem why especially for east coast news that news may go into 1AM depending on the NBC O&O. NBC might need to an abbreviated news cast to supplement for the halftime show.

Hazel and Dan on this morning at 7AM.
Betty and John this morning at 4:30AM..
... a new day at Pix 11 Morning news.
I wonder what change is next?

Per the WCBS thread, Hazel Sanchez just announced on IG that she is the new 7-11am co-anchor of the WPIX Morning News. Had Betty announced that she was leaving?
Part of me tells me that Pix is gonna do Betty dirty with this installment.
But, there's no mention of Betty leaving.
However, another part of me is that Betty might be doing 4:30AM-7AM prolly gives her time to see her kids for school.
In all seriousness, whatever the situation is it doesn't look good for Betty right now.
The bigger part is that why is PIX trying make all these changes. Is it me or Nexstar is trying very hard to be #1 in the New York media market. Because if that's the case.. It's not working. They are not getting past WABC and WNBC for the # 1 spot. Pix will be fine at # 3.

He announced on IG that he's going to Atlanta.
HERE’S TO A NEW JOB IN A NEW CITY!! Hello, @Newsy and Hello, @CityofAtlanta Newsy Is Relaunching Oct. 1, and Here’s How the Reimagined Over-the-Air News Network Will Define Success https://adweek.it/3Cf8ny7
I really hope Newsy gets on the ground running this time. Congrats to Rob and since NOLA is a bit of a distance from Atlanta. He's closer to home.

Although many here would approve, I find it hard to believe that they'd bring back Kala after they dumped her from that spot.
It's Kirstin Cole's spot officially if they make the right decision. However, also I'd put Shirley Chan in the running. Although, she's the additional coverage when Tamsen or Kori is out.

Who anchored with John muller today?
I want to say Dan Mannarino, but I'm not fully 100% on this.

Kirstin Cole or Kala Rama gets the vote to work AM with John Muller.

Which News 12?
Many of us associate Craig Allen with CBS2 and WCBS 880.
You forget he was on Pix 11 for a while also on Weekends before Stacy Ann Gooden took over his current spot.

Just spotted Craig Allen doing weather on News 12.. I'm not sure if he's been there for a while. Good to see someone from the old Pix11 Weekend weather crew.

Agreed, they ended up extending through noon, over Days of our Lives.
What was interesting with WNBC's coverage is that they sent Chopper 4 deep into South Jersey and had crew on the ground in Gloucester County, normally CAU territory. It was good to see WNBC covering a good chunk of deep southern jersey where most of time the coverage area is usually up to Trenton and Hamilton Township to the south and close to Union Township and Delaware Water Gap to the north.

Thankfully they dumped NY Live and went for a full hour of 11am news today.
... and that's only for today. Very good coverage today with WNBC with the storm.

Natalie co-anchoring with Adam right now at 5pm. This is the first time the 5pm has had two anchors since Stacey Bell left in March 2020.
Although, this could just be for today. No word this is permenant.
That would be OVERKILL for Natalie. This was only for storm coverage.

What do you think becomes of it? Just curious.
Educated guess: Give it to WCBS... Revamp it up and have it for set for News at 4.
WCBS already has studio 46 which is in the same building as studio 57.

New ND at WCBS: Sarah Dunlap. Comes from WLS.
This is good pick up. It may possibly lead for WCBS to comeback with the News at 4. The last time that happened was 21 years ago. I don't think that program lasted long. Who knows they could put back Dana Tyler to anchor the 4PM segment.

Wonder where he’ll wind up? Maybe Good Day NY? Lol
He's not coming back to NYC market. Don't wish on it. Although, he is from the tri-state area and has deep roots at ABC News and WABC-TV. I personally don't see him returning back to NYC. WNYW right now has a high turnover and that situation wouldn't be good for Nelson.

What's with everyone here asking if Sam Champion has left the station or on vacation. Last I checked meteorologists are allowed to take vacations. 12 days without a phone and being on social media is good for someone like Sam. We all need to remember that social media does not consume our lives. At the end of the day we all have lives to live. Social Media is a gift and a curse. All of this to say is Sam will return back to the studio once his vacation is done.

Both actually reported on the 5 pm and 6 pm news since Monday. Are they full time or per diem?
Both full time..
Romney is doing TINY. However, I did see her do reporting during mid-day and 5 today.
Jessica is doing Mid-day, 5 & 6 reporting..

Based on her Instagram, she was unemployed for several months (not clear if her choice or theirs). So her situation is different from many others who go right from News12 to the networks.
Copy that..

Thalia Perez has joined WCBS as a reporter. I think that she was most recently an anchor at News12, but had not been on the air for at least a few months.
She's from News 12: Bronx/Brooklyn or Westchester..
Alot of News 12 personalities are leaving for WCBS, WNBC and WABC.

Yes, she is obviously the replacement for Kat. She posted on Instagram that Gaby will be happy since he doesn't have to get up early anymore.
Personally, it would be good to have 3 reporters in the AM for TINY. Gaby is a very good reporter. Don't know his personal circumstances, but having Romney, Tracy and Gaby in the AM's would blend very well for TINY.

Romney Smith has made her first appearance on TINY & News at 11AM.
Jessica Cunnington from News 12 Bronx is now with NBC4. Her first report was yesterday.

She's doing quite fine in real estate. She doesn't need to be back in TV Business.
Ain't she get bumped for Suki in 2005 and speaking about Suki, I was watching a few old clips of Suki during her WCBS days. Honestly, only if she would of stayed at WCBS. I guess no one wants to be # 2 behind Dana Tyler.
