Good Day Sacramento uses graphics that don't look like the O&O package on purpose. They don't want it to look like the news graphics because it's not really a news broadcast. It's a morning show with news.

That is a copy! Appreciate the clarification..

Are the CBS O&O's getting a new graphics package within the next year or two? I believe last update was in 2016.

Those cars are prized possessions. Firing him was definitely the right move.

Side note: Surprised GDS hasn't updated their graphics to bring it closer to the current CBS O&O pack.

Absolutely, I agree on the firing part and yes GDS needs to update graphics ASAP to be along with the rest of the O&O's...

When is the next graphics update for all CBS O&O's- 2020, 2021 or 2022?

  3. West Coast News: CBS Sacramento reporter Angel Cardenas just got himself on a NO-HIRE-LIST.  FIRED from the CBS O&O for doing a lousy stunt at the Sacramento Auto Show. The segment was for Good Day Sacramento.  Auto show producer called KMAX/KOVR GM and the reporter is now immediately removed from the station.

Sure enough today his profile has been removed from the station's website.. https://sacramento.cbslocal.com/station/cbs13-cw31/

    Nope!

This show is bleeding out fast...

Remember that uncle Walter used to play to 29 million viewers each evening. That was in 1976, and the population of the USA was only 200 million people.

Nora barely gets 5 million viewers per show.

    https://nypost.com/2019/10/20/cbs-anchor-norah-odonnells-ratings-in-freefall/

Zirinsky, and CBS management need to go. I mean GO like yesterday! Walter and Dan had better ratings than this.  I'm not 100% if Katie Couric had good ratings. But I bet a bit better than Norah. What a sad day in CBSEN

Where's Dave Carlin?  He hasn't been on-air since before Labor Day, and his social media all stopped around September 5.  He's still on the WCBS website.  Does anyone know - is he ill?  It seems like an awfully long time to be on vacation...

Matter of fact he was on a long extended vacation. Just started reporting on Bay Ridge Halloween story over the weekend and a couple of online exclusives.

Why did Matt Lauer's victims speak to NBC correspondents about their complaints, the very network that covered up the alleged perpetrator for years? FNC is just about the only network that's interested in entertaining Megyn Kelly at the moment. After watching the interview, I don't think it was appropriate to spend 20 minutes bashing NBC, she sounded scorned. However, I don't view her efforts to call out the network as disingenuous. She covered the topic heavily while she was at NBC.

Ultimately after reading the statement I think Megyn is genuine and accurate in her request to have the network investigated. Her and Gretchen Carlson along with others have signed the request so I don't see how this is an example of her advocacy being 'questionable' while others aren't challenged. She is the center of a major motion film coming out regarding this topic, this is hardly a '15 minutes of fame' grab imo.

Nonetheless, this is probably better discussed in the dedicated NBC News sexual harassment forum rather than the dedicated Today Show forum.

You got a point there. However, technically wasn't she apart of the 3rd hour of the Today Show. This could be discussed in both parts of the subforum if you ask me..

Here's my thing.  Although, she may be a "respected journalist" with a law degree and worked at FNC for most of her career at the end of day NBC took an investment on her and it failed terribly and when is that movie supposed to hit theatres- (November/December)?

  7. So.. I don't know if this deserves a full post BUT DEADLINE IS REPORTING:

Megyn Kelly Calls For Outside Investigation Of NBC News On Fox’s News’ ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’

    Source: Deadline Breaking News.

IMO: Megyn was a train wreck from the beginning. I never understood to why NBC wanted to take on a headache like her and gave her a s*it load of money to than turn around to fire her.

Another tri-state area alum returning back to New York City roots.  Also I see that WNBC is taking some notes from WRC with the Breaking News desk.

Kerry Barrett had that role but mysteriously disappeared. Still don't know what happen to her. At least she's doing well in her venture.

Why would it tarnish her at all?  Is she only supposed to have well-liked people on her show to talk about cooking and flowers?

60 Minutes correspondents interview unpopular people accused of crimes all the time, and press them on the details of the crimes they are accused of.  Why shouldn't she be able to do the same?

Only reason I'm only saying that is b/c she's done some advocacy in Domestic Violence.

However, I get your point and it's completely valid.

She's a excellent journalist and if it does get picked up as @WAVY 10 Fan states no softball questions or anything going left.

  10. Apparently this interview may happen: Tamron Hall to talk with Matt Lauer in regards to NBC Firing According to Celebrity Insider

Honestly, if she does this interview this will tarnish everything she's done good. The show is doing well on ABC O&O's

  11. Weather graphic changes continue: It appears that WNBC is taking some notes from WABC. Noticed this yesterday when Rafael reported on the changing leaves for the fall foliage with the other layers of the weather wall and now today with Dave.

According to titantv.com the only replay of the 11 PM newscast is 2:37 am on Saturdays, though the FIOS guide says ABC World News Tonight is on then.

    The Tuesday-Friday overnight schedule is:

    1:07 AM Jeopardy!

    1:36 AM Tamron Hall.

2:35 AM ABC World News Tonight.

3:05 AM ABC World News Now.

That sounds about accurate. Looks like there's no more 1AM re-broadcast during the week. Only Friday's newscast is only re-played.  It's saying the same thing on my program guide on FIOS.

The 3:30 CFB games have always gone past 6pm as long as I can remember. Prior to last fall, the station would air an OTA newscast a 7pm, after the 3:30 game concluded. Since the network decided to move the primetime Saturday Night Football game from 8pm to 7:30pm, it has also decided to take that 7pm half hour as well, given that some of those 3:30 games go past 7pm, leaving no room for a local station to do an early evening newscast OTA.

The only good thing about the 7:30 start is that stations don't have to wait until almost midnight to start their newscasts. That's unless the game goes to overtime.,,,

Copy that. I've always been aware of the 3:30 slot sometimes going past 6:00 with no room for local news. I guess now the internet only 6PM newscasts.

Right, at least with the 7:30 slot the news can technically start at 11:00 depending if there is OT. However, on the average so far I've seen an 11:15 start for the news, but more or less the news NOW starting at the nose of 11:00.

It looks like the 8 a.m. newscast on Sunday's is cut down to a half hour. Since September 29, they have been showing an infomercial for DraftKings.

Prolly something to do with online sports betting which is legal in Jersey and I think now PA. I've noticed some of that as of late with the Philly stations.

Eyewitness News is doing an Internet only 6 PM newscast as college football is broadcast on WABC.

Kinda want to say they been doing that for the last 2 weeks since the 3:30 game cuts right into the 6PM newscast.

Probably the same reason everyone tends to leave there. No real chance for advancement since they're insistent in using 2 anchor teams to anchor all of the days' newscasts. He was on the bench as far as anchoring went while he was there. They had him subbing on an as needed basis on the afternoon newscasts. I remember him primarily reporting for the noon and afternoon shows.

Ahh copy that. No wonder why he was able to advance at NBC10 on Weekends.

    KYW and WNBC before WCAU.

Also what the hell is he doing living in Chester of all places? I know he's originally from there but still. Not some place I'd wanna live if I had the means to live elsewhere.

Change that to WABC TV.. He was the morning reporter before Derick Waller came in..  Yeh, he is from Chester but I'm trying to figure the same thing you are @WCAUTVNBC10. He has no business being there. Your a highly successful reporter who has travel technically the tri-state area if you want to include NYC. But being arrested in both Chester PA and Delaware has severe consequences..

PS: What happen to him leaving KYW?...  Did he go there to be an Anchor/Reporter for AM news?

Saw that yesterday during the 5PM news hour.

This morning on TINY: I believe this was mentioned but the new promo for the all tri-state area newscast with Darlene, Michael, Lauren, Maria.

No offense to Stacey-Ann, but I'm not a fan. Her delivery is choppy. Craig definitely has a warmer presence. I hope it was his choice to leave.

Jeff Berardelli has been a good substitute. I have seen him sub in on WCBS and WPIX within the last month, but wasn't it his choice to leave the tv news business a while back? The weird thing I find about him is that he doesn't like to refer to the anchor's name when they throw it to him to talk about the weather or when he throws it back to the anchor(s). It might be a small thing, but it makes him less personable.

On a related note, I once saw a female meteorologist filling-in on WNYW and thought she did a really great job. Her delivery was good and she seemed very knowledgeable. I can't remember her name, but she had blonde hair. I think she has potential to be a #1 market meteorologist,

Raegan Medgie. Fill-in for GDW,  Reporter, Meteorologist and Freelancer for Weather Channel

I'm not a real fan of Stacy-ann either. However, she's done well in the New York City Market and started at WNYW as a traffic reporter (and not freelance from total traffic)

Also, if it was her choice to leave Spectrum News 1 it's gotta be the infighting within the whole staff and those lawsuits..

As for Craig Allen: Craig will still be at the station as Stacy's fill-in. However, he does loses the permanent gig. A gig he's had since late 2010.

Maybe they are thinking about a weekend morning newscast since the E/I rule has changed.

I cannot see WPIX getting into the Weekend morning newscasts. I know they have the talent for it.

However, 5,6, and 10 is good enough for Pix.

UNRELATED: Something tells me that Scripps will clean house at WPIX and they are starting with weather already. Reporters and Anchors are next.
