Since KYW barely has enough on-air talent for their existing broadcast schedule - I would assume this is only the beginning of the new faces we will see in the coming months with the announced launch of CBSN Philadelphia in early 2020.

You may have a point.. CBS Philly is taking some notes from WCBS which already has CBSN. Hopefully, they get a new studio for CBSN Philly. They should get more new faces for the new CBSN. Although Philly is a tough market to deal with. However, this puts KYW in a good position to deal with CAU and PVI.

Unfortunately that most likely won’t happen.. the show seriously needs a male presence though. Robert Moses and either Kerry Drew or Regan Medgie would do well

Answer on the bottom in regards to Raegan Medgie hosting GDW 4:30-7.

Looks like WNYW may need to look for a new morning anchor to possibly sit beside Kerry Drew.

Raegan tweeted she would be hosting all week so I expect it to be her and Kerry until next week

    You are absolutely correct..

What about pairing Greg Kelly with Teresa Priolo to succeed Suki and Jenn?

Greg Kelly is NOT coming back.. Don't bet your bottom dollar on it...

If true that leaves two big holes to fill - 2 pm and 7 pm.  Previously they said it was replacing Steve Harvey.   If the rumors of a 7 pm newscast are true would they do local at 7 or be like WRC and do a full hour of local at 6 and Nightly at 7.  They were doing this in the 80s.

WRC does a good job with that.. News 4-7 than nightly news.  Hopefully WNBC goes back to that format.

I haven't heard too about Access being renewed or cancelled.

Same for this morning.. 8/13.. Hopefully they could bring more people in the chair for the AM.

PS: Jen Lahmers bio is still up.. Meanwhile, Suki's bio is down.

News 12 Bx/Bk share a studio.. not sure where it is.. the News 12 WC/HV studio and main newsroom used to be in Yonkers but is now broadcast from LI.. the newsroom in Yonkers is still in operation as is the west nyack center

My guess is News 12 Bx/BK is in Soundview..

I find it weird that the news rooms are in ops for WC and HV in respective areas.

However studio is all the way in Woodbury Crossings for News 12 WC/HV. I know News 12 LI is there too.

At one point I remember News 12 BK was out of Sheepshead Bay. I interned there briefly plus they had a Canarsie Bureau that covered the rest of Brooklyn before settling in Soundview.

From what I've seen News 12 New Jersey is the last News 12 network that still has a local focus, for now. I speak mainly of my experience with the Long Island network. Perhaps New Jersey has stricter rules requiring local content. I also notice they do not have the "Nightside" program on News 12 New Jersey, which here on Long Island, starts at 7pm and is almost exclusively national news. From what I've seen the Long Island version of News 12 is now gearing to a more urban, upscale demographic (finance professionals/wall st) while New Jersey still has more of neighborhood feel. But don't count on it lasting. Altice will eventually merge all the News 12's into one studio, from what I've heard.

Will that include News 12 BKN/BX and Hudson Valley all into 1 studio. I'm not 100% with this but News 12 BKN operates out of Sheepshead Bay & Canarsie

Bronx News 12 out of Soundview, News 12 Westchester in Yonkers and News 12 Hudson Valley in West Nyack..

His last day is August 20th and likely won’t start at WNBC until sometime in September.

Thank You for pointing that out for me. I rushed it a little too quickly. However, you are correct. I say mid-September for his start.

How?  They are now down 1 meteorologist.  With Rafael Miranda doing TINY Weekends, and Janice and Dave Price doing weeknights, there is no one who is permanent on weekend nights.  That makes no sense.  Clearly they have an opening.  The only move they could make is to move Dave Price to weekends.  He would see that as a demotion, as would viewers so that is very doubtful.

At the going rate right now we might see a little bit of Janice and possibly Dave doing weather on weekend nights until they get a new person. I was a bit surprised when I saw Janice on at 11 last night. Probably WNBC has it's reason why Erica is no longer there.

I’ve been seeing advertisements for The Tamron Hall Show premiering at 10 a.m. on September 9th. I guess The Rachel Ray Show is off for the Philly market.

Just as others indicated- 2PM Time slot for most ABC O&O's.. Show is renewed for Seasons 14 and 15 as per Deadline article released in January.

  10. TINY 7/29/19: Darlene > Michael > Lauren > Maria

Very pleased to say that Maria did great on her first day. She had her little moments (first day glitters). However, in all retrospect I feel TINY will be in good hands.

However, we all here may have our opinions about either Rafael, Erica or Dave to be apart of TINY.

Nope. They’re moving downtown within the next 4 years or so. That’s when a new studio and set will happen.

,,,, Construction is or has already begun. A few other tenants have to vacate within 3 days. As of 8/1/19 demolition will begin for the New Hudson Square area.

The weather center in both shots are the same set.. just different angles.. however there are 2 different weather centers.. one used during newscasts and the other one that’s upstairs which is used during GMA/breaking weather cut ins

Yes that is correct. Just recently observed that. Thank you for pointing that out for me.

Remember that WCBS 880 is no longer part of the same company as WCBS TV.  CBS sold the radio division to Entercom about 2 years ago.  Sharing on air personalities is not longer a given and would require contracts.  Entercom is licensing the call letters and contracted with CBS News to provide news updates (with a name change to differentiate).  It used to be that most TV and radio stations used one or two traffic suppliers like the former Shadow Traffic and then Total Traffic.  The supplier used to provide the talent so there were backups.  Clearly with CBS, that model has changed and its no longer a priority.

I totally forgot that 2017 acquisition to Entercom and yes you are correct with the contracts b/c I would remember certain WCBS-TV reporters doing reports on 880 and vice versa.

  14. KYW IN TROUBLE AS PER THIS POST via FTV: Station Manager Brian Kennedy is OUT the door. No replacement has been set as of yet. KYW has struggled throughout the years in ratings. I will say this. No one is not messing with the news station near the Philadelphia Zoo. Sorry but not sorry.

    https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2019/7/23/out-the-door-in-philly

PS: They may need to the same at NYC CBS O&O.

  15. I don't agree with getting rid of the morning program at WCBS-TV. However, the talent has to seriously change.

Honestly, I can't remember when the last time WCBS-TV had good talent for their Weekday morning program.

But in regards to traffic:  WCBS Newsradio 880 is #1 when it comes to traffic breaking news and if that was incorporated into the TV program in the morning I personally think we wouldn't be talking about an traffic anchor and use an anchor from 880. Morning drive anchors are pretty hard to find. However, when you find one and they are good. You keep them and invest with them.

It's proven success at the other stations. Why can't WCBS-TV get with the program with that.  #IMO.. #carryon.

  16. Eyewitness News AM 7/23: Mike > Michelle > Sam.

Opinion: Mike makes a good fill-in anchor. However, too early to have him with other pairings. But, so far so good from what I saw the last 2 days.

They went back to the 2018 version with the Accuweather marquee this morning with Sam. @IceManNYR. So I will say this, WABC uses 2 versions for the weather center.
