  1. I don't know of a single person that actually called KOLR10 "OzarksFirst" outright as its name, outside the context of the website. KRBK and KOZL are essentially complementary to KOLR10 (the virtual duopoly of Nexstar owning them with Mission owning KOLR notwithstanding). OzarksFirst.com is a well-established domain name. But to just supplant the legacy brand of KOLR10 News? I'm not sure I quite understand that logic. I guess time will tell if the name holds as the actual on-air brand. Overture is always a personal favorite but it was probably time for a change. I kinda wish SAM had created new PM cuts for Overture back when they did new cuts for AM shows. Guardian is a good choice music-wise. That is probably the best thing I can say about this change. Graphics isn't bad but I think the CBS package is aesthetically far superior to the ABC one.
  2. Sure. It was an episode of a podcast I do. It was not copyright-related. They removed it citing misinformation. On a different note: Since you mentioned that you have a Do Not Post list, I will say that one video I produced last summer was later marked as having copyrighted material. I'm not 100 percent sure if I remember right but I believe A&E was a claimant. I thought at the time (and still continue to believe) that it was a false claim. But nonetheless, I removed that video from YouTube on my own to avoid any potential issue.
  3. For the first time ever last week, one of my videos was removed from YouTube. I never had YouTube remove a video before, but I see that I'm in good company. I find it completely ridiculous that YouTube is seeking to punish the very people who contribute content to the platform. If this trend continues, I really hope there is a comparable video platform for people to go to.
  4. If Nexstar isn't planning to keep WJZY, then why build them a new set? It makes zero sense to give them a new set if they would just sell them right after.
  5. At this point in time, I think it's safe for me to say that Mr. Kim is declaring an all-out war on Tegna leadership.
  6. I imagine that it takes time to switch these types of things over to the new brand. I will say that I get Spectrum where I currently live in the Charlotte area. Sometime after NewsNation debuted as a newscast, WGN America went from being letterboxed to full screen. Despite this, NewsNation still appears on my Spectrum service in standard-definition (at last check). But it sure seems that they are in no hurry to switch Spectrum fully over to the HD feed.
  7. In my personal opinion, it is completely unfair to consider NewsNation a fail less than one year after they launched (as a newscast). I think it is self-evident that there are those who literally want NewsNation to crash and burn, because Nexstar had the idea of creating a news channel. I think we can all agree that any start-up has to make changes as time goes on with plenty of room for improvement -- and this is no different. They are undoubtedly experiencing growing pains and people should keep that fact in mind. I also think it is also unfair to tie NewsNation directly to the decline of WGN America. WGN America had seen better days before Nexstar, to put it mildly. And now Nexstar is injecting new life into the channel under the new NewsNation brand. As much as people want to say otherwise, WGN America was not going to survive long-term without major changes. And now Nexstar is making changes that, in my opinion, puts the channel on the best possible path to being successful. I personally would've preferred that they kept the WGN America name, at least nominally, to maintain continuity of the brand. But nonetheless, I think NewsNation has a solid concept and they are well on their way to fulfilling their mission. I agree that NewsNation cable feed should be more accessible to digital users, but we should also remember that they have to turn a profit and just making it free over the Internet, while trying to be successful on cable, can short-circuit their success on cable. Finally, referring to the NY Times piece, I think it is ridiculous to suggest NewsNation has some kind of unique bias. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot, the NY Times would have no objections. I perceive NewsNation as being objective and trying to be fair. There is no such thing as a perfect news outlet. But I would say NewsNation is among the best on cable right now for straight news.
  8. I'm surprised Nexstar hasn't already had WDHN add in weekend newscasts. At the very least, they should simulcast newscasts from WMBB if not do things in-house.
  9. I personally love these graphics for WTVY. Very immersive and also modern.
  10. Sad to hear this. He has become a mainstay in the Springfield-Branson DMA. Whoever replaces him has big shoes to fill. I hope he doesn't have to leave the market.
  11. Without major changes to the status quo, I do not see Nexstar and Meredith doing a complete merger. Maybe piecemeal but not likely for the whole company.
  12. Glad to see that WSYM got its own in-house newscasts. I wonder how it is that Scripps can get WSYM's in-house newscasts going in mere months after the announcement, yet WSFL still doesn't have their in-house newscasts more than a year later after the original announcement.
  13. I currently live in the Charlotte area but I like being able to occasionally watch the local news from KOLR10. If they go behind a pay-wall, it will leave me without the ability to watch them (since I'm not currently living in the market). I really, really hope that Nexstar doesn't start restricting access to the live streams.
  14. That would be a terrible mistake if Nexstar rolled out restrictions to the remainder of its stations. And besides, it makes zero sense for them to do for local stations. They broadcast OTA, so why they would require people to sign-in via a TV provider has me confused as to the logic of it.
  15. Before the current graphics, the WTNZ newscasts actually used Raycom's Limerick graphics for the opens for a time until 2018. I like the unique approach WTNZ has, instead of just using C Clarity. I hope the trend continues.
  16. Definitely an overreaction by the station. Good for her to take the high road in the announcement. I think the station should rethink their decision to terminate.
  17. On those nights where they dumped the headlines, I'm curious as to how they made up for the extra time. Did they opt for a long close or do they have some package on standby that they can run at the end? After all, we're probably looking at a solid two minutes (certainly well more than a minute) for headlines. That's a lot of time to make up for to avoid coming up short by the end of the show.
  18. That open is absolutely ridiculous. The logo outline is very unsightly. And the L3 font is ridiculous, even by the standards of this graphics pkg.
  19. And for some reason they're still using Tower and the same open. I wonder if those will change in the coming days/weeks.
  20. Lindsay Clein -- a news anchor who is still there at last check Meteorologist John Zeigler -- he was only at WJZY for a short time before going to a different station
  21. That's interesting. She makes the third person I know to join WJZY after leaving KOLR10.
  22. People may hate me for saying this, but I'm now at the point of saying Sinclair should just shut down the RSNs (or perhaps consolidate to a few stronger ones) and move on. Obviously the fallout during COVID is not Sinclair's fault in the least, and unfortunately the lack of abundant sports programming right now is not helping matters. They should leverage their station portfolio by expanding their original content for the stations.
  23. I like those graphics on WIFR a lot.
  24. I must say...even though I was expecting an overall downgrade in the brand quality, this is just BAD. And hearing those NBC chimes on a CBS station must be quite jarring to say the least.
  25. That logo bug looks really bad.
