  1. I say this respectfully. I may have a different opinion than you do but let's get along and not resort to speaking like that...
  2. That's a given. Of course Allen won't be making day to day decisions for Tegna. But he will likely install more like-minded people as him to run Tegna day-to-day. Whether that includes members of the current Tegna team is not assured. If Allen wanted, he could decide that everyone gets replaced on Day 1. I suspect a hybrid of the two will happen. Some might carry over, but others might be shown the door. One thing is for certain: major changes will be substantially made with the Tegna stations, widely ranging from on air branding to journalistic standards, if or when ownership changes. And when I refer to "C Clarity", that term is inclusive of the social media-style presentation as well. The music is a mere symptom of a much greater problem there.
  3. At this point a stand-up comedian (albeit former) would do better running Tegna or whatever the final entity would be known by than Tegna as it currently exists...
  4. They certainly did a lot better with the logo bug on KGTV. It looks a lot more sharp compared to the others so far, at least when a L3 is up.
  5. Yep I literally just saw that so it's confirmed that Aerial is alive at WBNS despite C Clarity. I also sent a tip to NMSA to get the website corrected to show Aerial as still current for Face The State newscasts only.
  6. My preference here, but I think Overture is a better fit. Maybe change the opening cut to the one KOLR10 uses.
  7. Did anyone manage to record it at 6pm?
  8. So sad to hear, but not surprised. Their gfx with Aerial made one of the best combos in the 2010s.
  9. I'm glad Sinclair is continuing to allow WLUK to be autonomous with the news music. The gfx and Aerial actually make a great combo.
  10. And once again Tegna doesn't bother trying to make the logo portion legible with this new website design. Albeit the '5' and 'news' are, but the slogan is barely readable.
  11. Well if things keep going in this trajectory, I would personally recommend Sinclair does something to offload its debt (whether that's selling some of their ownership stake or something else). But my gut feeling is that all will work out fine for Sinclair once the dust settles on the rebranding strategy and what happens to the programming at-large on the RSNs. Restoring certainty on the exact form of the RSNs will have going forward will go a long way to restoring confidence.
  12. Let's also remember that Sinclair doesn't own the RSNs outright. It's basically a consortium with Entertainment Studios, with Entertainment Studios holding something called an "equity stake". To a point Sinclair is probably obligated to charge a minimum to offset the massive debt they have incurred with buying the RSNs. How much those minimums are to offset any loss is not something I'm an expert at, but there most surely is a minimum amount. Also, I'm not familiar with the legal verbiage of the papers that were signed when Sinclair/Entertainment Studios closed on the purchase, but I would imagine that any major decision would require both Sinclair and Entertainment Studios to agree (whether that's the amount charged or branding decisions). Sinclair is probably not able to make as robust of decisions since there is a second party involved. Just a guess there. That's not to say Sinclair is in any kind of financial trouble, but as a business they do have to ask a certain amount to avoid a net loss while also accomplishing their goals with the RSNs.
  13. Sometime shortly before the latest elections in Israel, KAN 11 underwent a significant update to its news program. They debuted an updated music theme (which I must say is very good). The open titles begins at 2:02. They also updated their graphics, which basically keeps the general concept of the old graphics but this update makes it look a lot more immersive. And last but not least, they also built a new studio. At first glance it might appear somewhat similar to the old studio, but they actually have a real newsroom as the backdrop (instead of a simulated newsroom) and the set design is a lot more circular than before.
  14. Wow, that is a very impressive design. My only critique is the use of those GMA-style LED doorways (not a fan of that)...but otherwise I give the set design an A+. Very nice. I wonder if they will have David normally sit at the bigger desk in the middle or on one of the desks to the side. That middle desk seems really big for only one person to sit at. So it should be interesting to see if that desk arrangement stays that way once WNT moves back in. On a side note, interesting that WNT is still on the temporary set up tonight.
  15. I remember something happening back in January where the videowall behind David went black for a short sec then turned back on. In this video at the 0:35 you can see the videowall go dark briefly. Just a guess, but it was probably a goof in the control room that led to that happening. It appears they held on to that live shot a big longer than normal to try to "mask" that issue as best as they could. Since they were scrambling to adapt to the breaking news happening right then, I couldn't really blame them. Either way, given the leaked pictures purported to show the remodeled TV3, it's probably safe to assume we're very close to its debut. So any issues with the temporary set will probably not get as much priority as it normally would. (I'm just guessing there.)
  16. I saw that last night as well. I found it kind of weird that the monitor in the front of the desk appears blurry with that angled shot.
  17. Just learned of this. KXNW now has a 7pm newscast produced by KNWA (branded as KNWA News at 7:00 on KXNW). It would also appear that KXNW has a new logo as well. Apparently the new 7pm newscast has been running since February 10th. https://changingnewscasts.wordpress.com/2020/02/19/some-recent-changes-northwest-arkansas/?fbclid=IwAR33mRASQS7Hp293dtKCp0JGDSjy6Fowsk7RRNNOxr5B2QOyiwLlvagS2kY
  18. ...and the world?! (Facepalm) I can see why they dropped the slogan in the first place...just saying.....
  19. Wow, a sigh a relief for WLEX. I hope KSBY also gets exempted, at least music wise.
  20. Wow, this should be quite something to see launch. I don't know if you're at liberty of answering this question, but do they still have the newsroom on the two sides of TV3?
  21. I was thinking it would likely take until at least the start of May sweeps to get the work done in TV3 (given how major the work is). Is it possible they'll have it done sooner?
