  1. I rotate between WDAY and VNL reasonably regularly. Don't worry.
  2. They still simulcast mornings as "Valley News Live". I suffer through it most mornings.
  3. Not sure if this is a Gray or CBS issue- but would someone tell KBJR (Duluth) to stop running the generic promo with Gayle King for "CBS This Morning" (old name, studio, graphics, plus it has Anthony Mason still as the co-host!)? That said, you wonder why the ratings still suck... The affiliates don't even market the correct show (and another tangent, KVLY to this day says "CBS This Morning starts next)
  4. http://www.newsmusicsearcharchive.com/#3,1,1783
  5. With respect, heavy emphasis on the "might".
  6. Living in the market, it was only a matter of time, and sorry that I don't keep up on the Speculatron as much as I should... My pipe theory was that it would be Nexstar (who has CBS for the state outside of Fargo) who would then do an affiliation swap to get CBS from Gray (Who has Fox for ND outside of Fargo). It is unfortunate that there will only be two broadcast TV Voices in the market going forward, but in their presser, local ownership was a driving factor... Which can be appreciated, right?
  7. Forum Communications (Fargo, owns all the ABC Stations in North Dakota) has purchased KVRR-TV (Fox Fargo) and KQDS-TV (Fox Duluth, MN). Effectively makes Fargo a 2 newsroom operation between Gray (NBC/CBS) and Forum (ABC/Fox) https://kfgo.com/2021/11/30/464590/
  8. Lisa Budeau is out as long-time Morning Anchor at KVLY. https://www.inforum.com/entertainment/television/7286448-McFeely-Lisa-Budeau-gone-from-Valley-News-Live-as-hits-keep-on-coming Disclaimer for the link- the Fargo Forum owners also own KVLY's main competitor, WDAY-TV.
  9. I'm curious to why the Gray logo has to be on the front of the desk? KOTA/KEVN have been adding it to their weather graphics as well (and not doing it well).
  10. Gray has begun converting the websites of the former Quincy properties. https://www.kbjr6.com/ https://www.cbs3duluth.com/ https://www.fortwaynesnbc.com/ https://www.wpta21.com/ https://www.week.com/ https://www.hoiabc.com/ They have a few to go.
  11. Say what you want about how overused packages are, I'm just proud that with Gray combining brandings in the Dakotas ("Dakota News Now" at KSFY/KDLT, "Valley News Live" at KVLY/KXJB, "Your News Leader" at the KFYR/KMOT...) that they've kept two separate identities this long in a small market like Rapid City.
  12. The four-anchor format was interesting to try mid-week, but they seemed to have good chemistry. The question the bosses need to be asking- When you've replaced everything but Gayle, might it be time to try replacing Gayle? Nothing against her and I'm sure shes a great person, I'm just pointing out that they have changed every other co-host, Moved the studio, re-branded the show and she has remained the only constant. Then again, my argument for CBSEN echoes here... Someone has to be in third place. As long as the show makes money and sales isn't having issues selling it, then what's the point of another change?
  13. Unless sales is having trouble selling enough to make it profitable? If Norah is so bad that the network is losing money, that might force their hand. Third place yet profitable shouldn't be an issue- Someone's gotta keep the bench warm
  14. Please no. At least not every CBS affiliate. Major and Large markets sure... But please don't let the small markets into this mess.
  15. I'll throw them a bone and argue that they're trying with Tony on the morning show... Gayle was off, he was in the center chair, and I stuck around for more than the Eye Opener!
  16. The old CTM Eye Opener theme played yesterday and today. Trust me... I have to watch the thing six times.
  17. It's still more of a promo for the 7:00 hour unfortunately.
  18. Very good choices- not necessarily where they put them, but for not trying to go directly against the stranglehold that KELO seems to have on the market
  19. To Chris' credit, for full disclosure and to be fair, The Forum's parent company (Forum Comm.) owns KVLY's competitor WDAY/ABC. Of course they're going to spin this to make anyone at KVLY look worse than they really are.
  20. Do we have a thread/list of all the non-vaxers that Gray jettisoned yesterday? 10 pm anchor Tom Tucker (who was just hired last month) and right-wing commentator Chris Berg are gone from KVLY/Fargo https://www.inforum.com/entertainment/7212783-Chris-Berg-leaves-Valley-News-Live-as-companys-vaccine-deadline-arrives
  21. Anyone have access to Ratings for the last couple weeks? NBC v. CBS v. ABC?
  22. Top Ten things we copied from our competitors... 10) Giant video walls 9) location, baby! 8- Giving former Co-Anchors the "Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" treatment 7) A newfound appreciation for Smooth Jazz 6) Outdated references to bits from retired CBS programs 5) That DJ we found leftover from the TRL days at Viacom 4) Paint everything orange- that got the Today Show 5 points, right? 3) Hey look! We got an couch from IKEA too! 2) Retired NFL players make great anchors! 1) Sure Willard wore a dress, but we gave Tony a fun hat! All possible sarcasm in the jokes is implied.
  23. Sorry if someone already covered this... But in today's NOT hard news, "Tony and Nate's Excellent Adventure" took a tour of Times Square and CBS seems to have no problem recognizing who's turf they're on. They even tried to bring GMA a fruit basket and cake...
  24. What's the requirement for affiliates to have time/temp/ticker? KVLY (Gray) Doesn't ever have that on CBS or TODAY (Unless they insert their alert bar for school closings etc).
  25. It's had minor edits- Mostly to give it the "Boxy" lower thirds like CBSEN has
