Speaking of changing anchors every few years, another problem with moving Tony to Evening News is yet another casting change to the Gayle King Show... What are the chances they give a former anchor another shot? Pelley? Glor?

Fact Check time! KSTP's does use the new ABC logo- A quick scroll through the homepage of their website shows that... I counted 8 new ABC logos, 3 old logos. Since I watch their newscasts, click on any recent video and you will see the new logo used on all on-air graphics (except mic flags). And if we're bring honest, as small of a scale the ABC logo is the average/casual viewer probably doesn't notice or care about the change. Also- I'll go on the argument (again...) that it's not necessarily retro. The logo goes back to the red box/parallelogram a few times from the original inception. The most recent case in 2021, Fox9 switched to the new O&O look making every station's primary color a shade of blue (4, 5, 9, and 11). KSTP simply differentiated themselves by changing their color scheme to red/white/black.

Liz Collin has left WCCO after 14 years. The STrib sums it up pretty thoroughly.

I hear Matt Lauer is available CBS does like to find work for Today Show alums (Bryant, Couric, Morales)

But with everyone having wx apps on their phone which are more accurate for the temp thanks to location tracking etc, is time/temp really necessary on the screen? Or in the days of cleaner, simpler looks is it just clutter that can be jettisoned?

Same folks who tell stations to brand every fire/crash/disturbance as Breaking News. Can move this thought to speculation or breakroom to keep some people happy, but when's the last time a consultant had an original idea?

I don't know nearly as much about the Pitt market as you do, but it seems similar enough to the point where corporate mandates often get bucked... And as long as they have the ratings to back up noncompliance, CBS would be dumb to make them fall in line. Although for WCCO, I never understood why they dumped "4 Warn Storm Team", it was a good play on the channel number (and an answer to KSTP's "SkyMax5")

I have a hard time seeing WCCO adopting this. They've been "WCCO Weather" since 2005-ish. and overall, the Minneapolis-St. Paul market has avoided these kind of brandings. KSTP is "Minnesota's Weather Authority" but everyone else is *station name* weather. No one even takes the WeatherRate bait.

Usually good faith exceptions are made for someone to appear on another network for a milestone. Barbara was at the 60-year special while she was still at ABC

What were you hoping for? NBCSN shutting down is kind of like a Kmart going out of business sale- Didn't have the money, inventory, or power to take down the top competition so it just fades into history

Lisa Budeau, who was a longtime anchor at KVLY until being dismissed last fall, has landed across town at WDAY. They're adding her as a third anchor in the same time slot she hosted at Valley News Live (5-7AM). I rotate between WDAY and VNL reasonably regularly. Don't worry.

They still simulcast mornings as "Valley News Live". I suffer through it most mornings.

Not sure if this is a Gray or CBS issue- but would someone tell KBJR (Duluth) to stop running the generic promo with Gayle King for "CBS This Morning" (old name, studio, graphics, plus it has Anthony Mason still as the co-host!)? That said, you wonder why the ratings still suck... The affiliates don't even market the correct show (and another tangent, KVLY to this day says "CBS This Morning starts next)

I'm curious to why the Gray logo has to be on the front of the desk? KOTA/KEVN have been adding it to their weather graphics as well (and not doing it well).
