Alison Starling leaving WJLA after 20 years. Arguably the most recognizable talent at the station and one of the few remaining from the Allbritton ownership.
Here's her exit interview:
In other DC news, WRC's Eun Yang has been off tv due to an Achilles tendon injury while playing pickelball:

Not to stray far from WABC...On the topic of the grueling morning shift, I recently saw a 4:30 am news cast from WMAR 2 Baltimore. They were no anchors, just packages one after the other, with the reporters introducing their packages.
Only weather appeared to be live. The anchors began at 5 AM. What do you all think of this format, and could it work in a city like NY, on a station like 7?
WMAR is a perennial bottom-feeder and Scripps seems to be making cuts here and there. Not to mention WMAR's standing is so bad that they don't even bother with any Saturday newscasts.
On the flip side, I've never heard of any mass budget cuts/layoffs with the ABC O&Os throughout it's history.

In the new tv deal announced today for the NWSL, ION gets the rights to 2 weekly Saturday night games, plus the draft:

They’re going to host the next Republican primary presidential debate:
It will be simulcast on the CW in the Eastern and Central time zones and Megyn Kelly is among the moderators.

Bill Ritter is anchoring this morning with Chantee Lans. That's even more unlikely than working a weekend night, imo.

Here’s an interview with Dagmar. Sounds like she really needed to leave tv:

I wish we could go back to the show being about meeting the press, as in 'not just one person from NBC News'. It's a new face, but the same tired presentation, production and booking behind her, and she can only do so much. They couldn't even be bothered to blow up the entire episode for actual breaking news because they HAD to air yet another not unique interview with Matt Gaetz and his Dennis the Menace act which was already spoiled to death, and a 'but actually' interview with Nicki Haley nobody asked for.
MtP is in 80s-esque nadir where the format needs to be blown up.
Yeah, hearing the backlash to her first couple of weeks it seems like the problem wasn’t merely Chuck.

WDVM was finally added to YouTube TV a few months after they said it was coming.
Wondering if other missing Nexstar stations were just added.

Except for WLS, where Oprah's show originated and aired live at 9 AM, stations were not allowed to air her in the morning. The most common time for her show was 4 PM (local time), although there were some stations that aired her at 5 as lead-in to the news and some, like KABC, that had her at 3, before the 4 PM news.
WLNY (at least the Long Island feed) was allowed to air Oprah at 7PM during her run. They somehow got the rights to air quite the number of high-profile syndicated series before CBS bought them (ie, Jeopardy and Wheel aired at 6pm, and I think before the sale they were airing at 5pm).
One relic from that era that still exists is that they air an hour of Judge Judy at 10pm.

What happened to my post?
I swore I posted that WXII delays Today 3rd Hour and Hoda and Jenna by an hour to air Kelly and Mark at 9. And that sister station WYFF doesn’t air Hoda and Jenna at all. They also air Kelly and Mark at 9 and 3rd Hour at 10 and a random syndicated program at 11am (currently Dateline). Maybe I forgot to hit send. Same thing happened yesterday when I thought I had mentioned the handful of affiliates that aired GL at 10am in the mid 2000s.
I swear it's a Hearst thing. WBAL and KCRA also don't air Hoda and Jenna, and those are two market-leading stations.

The real question is who blinked first, Disney or Charter.
And yes, I absolutely believe Monday Night Football–on ESPN and ABC–and featuring the New York Jets–had everything to do with it.
Especially since much of NYC is served by Spectrum, so if it wasn't resolved those customers couldn't even watch it on WABC-TV if they wanted to.

Observations: My9 has been the Feud station for a while + this only cements it. Currently, 7-8p, 10-11p + 11:30p (not to mention 6:30p on FOX 5, which will also add 11p-12a runs on 9/11, latter half transferred from My9) Add in extra 5p run, it's 4 hrs. combined of Feud runs from the duop. Not to mention how WWOR hasn't only been a shell of itself, it became a 'parking lot'. 9 Broadcast Plaza is all but gone. But I'll digress.
And I thought WDCA (which is the WWOR of DC) now airing Feud 7 times a day was obscene. Once again, it shows how dire syndication and linear tv is.

There’s a few exceptions. KIRO in Seattle has been doing the same thing for several years, air it at 2 for an hour news and a station in Oklahoma (I believe it’s Tulsa) delays it til late night).
Yep, KOTV has aired it late at night for quite some time.

So much for the 8-10pm local programming/newscasts on WPCH.
I have wondered why WANF still airs Big Bang Theory reruns at 7:30, that’s ripe for another half hour of news, especially as WPCH scales back.

I'm currently good with the same theme. The CHL one is really out of date and doesn't really fit a modern broadcast in my opinion.
Considering less WABC broadcasts have them, at some point I wonder if they just throw up their hands and eliminate the talent opens for good.
Would you believe tomorrow is the 24th anniversary of when they first used the current theme. That’s some low-key longevity.
