  1. Its entirely possible that there's now two version of GrayONE, with version A being what we have seen with WAFF, KMOV, WCSC, etc and version B being what we are seeing on KNOP and KNSB. Other than the ticker and font there certainly are similarities between the two. Its possible there test alternative packages in smaller markets. Additionally, this could be an alternative to be primarily used by ABC affiliates, but optional for others.
  2. I dont think that 21Alive had the ABC logo since the rebrand, but I am not entirely sure, on their VUit page there's no logo present.
  3. On the opposite side of the spectrum their is WVUE in New Orleans, where the O in the FOX logo seems to be adjusted for local branding: (how did FOX even let them do that in the first place)
  4. In retransmission consent squabbles, who is the bad guy the provider (cable, satellite, etc.) or the station group owner? Who's holding out (in this context)?
  5. While I would interested to see what CBS might come up with, I think it would be a shot in the foot for them. All of their weekday newscasts get third/last-place in viewers, odds are this wouldn't be any different. The only way for it to work is if they were to have it run right after the morning game show block, which is where I think they could get the most viewers who just did not change the channel (I am in my tweenties, and whenever i was sick I'd watch the game shows), plus they'd have have to figure out which talent to use to anchor it, but I'll leave that for another post. Also, at this point should this thread be renamed to something like "Midday Network News"
  6. ABC afilliates? Have any stations that are primarily* ABC affiliates made the switch the Grayone yet? *(KGNS has an ABC affiliation on a sub channel, but is primarily NBC so I am not counting it)
  7. Yes, that story could definitely have been written better. There has been a lot of criticism of the Clayton County Sheriffs office recently, its hard to explain the situation, so I left a few links below if anyone is interested. https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/former-sheriff-victor-hill-must-report-federal-prison-by-this-afternoon/CY2FIXOSGNGGZNSDJ3DOUVJEIA/ https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/21/us/terry-thurmond-inmate-death-investigation-georgia/index.html
  8. Not so fast, only the noon newscast uses that open, these are the opens for a few of the others.
  9. The second two hours of Daily came from Los Angeles, on the set used by Stay Tuned, her are some screen grabs: In contrast, the first two hours came from NY from the usual set.
  10. More here: https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2023/12/12/man-accused-holding-atlanta-news-first-reporter-photojournalist-hostage-arrested/
  11. My semester at UAH ended on Friday, and drove to Atlanta for the holidays on Sunday, and then they made the switch on Monday! I feel your pain. I had been anticipating this switch since mid-October, so had been checking regularly when not in town. Once again, I feel your pain.
  12. I agree with this in its entirety. For example, a little over a year ago, WXIA began using a different variety of C Clarity, for open, closes and everything in between. However they only use a specific 30 second cut (open #7 on NMSA), but it quickly got stale in the ears.
  13. Thanks for the explanation, I didn't consider the operating costs themselves.
  14. Makes sense, however, have you read or heard anything else, or just using the evidence we've seen so far? Also, if they were prepping for a sale, wouldn't they have kept the anchors, which is part of the value of each stations image with the public.
  15. WAFF made the switch at noon today! The website has yet to be updated.
  16. How old is WMTV's current package? (photos attached for reference)
  17. Has their been criticism of Gray, I have only heard things about Nexstar, Sinclair, and Scripps (just off the top of my head)?
  18. This looks extremely similar to the NBC News Now graphics, just flipped, and taller. CNBC NBC News Now I would not suprised if it was done by the same team.
  19. I wonder if this means that NBC affiliates will not display the Olympic Rings in their logos next year.
  20. Not the same channel, but there is a recap on NBC News Now
  21. They also failed to include a simple audible 90 second time, or it isn't picked up by the mics (which is another flop on its own).
  22. When does the new weekend schedule start?
  23. I wonder if they are going to invest more in their augmented reality sets/improve on them with these renovations to the main studio. Speaking of which, are any parts of their AR sets physically real?
  24. This talk about WVUE got me curious, so I watched a newscast on their VUit page to see for myself and came across this. They haven't switched to grayone yet, but they have a different ticker that looks to be a mashup of both new and old.
  25. Has there been any pattern (geographic, prior ownership) to which stations are getting the new graphics? Also, is the Meredith package an option for stations as well?
