  1. Yea, and it relates to me in Kansas City when KSHB decided to rebrand as KSHB41/41 News. Maybe because they were convinced that it wasn't doing well, (despite the whole 6-7 washing machines sinkhole meme) given the KSHB's 4th place ratings. There has to be at least research involved in WXYZ making this extremely big rebrand, changing it from Action News to 7 News Detroit. I do hope WXYZ the best in this case.
  2. Exactly! It's absurd that people would go crazy over an... rebrand that the station did.
  3. Okay, this is the dumbest CityNews update they ever did. I'm bot even Canadian but I even know that the anchor stand in the newscasts. As what Rusty Muck said, it's far down the importance level. Just why would they make an move??
  4. Yea, given the fact of the Canadian programs on The CW, it's an good idea that CBET never grabs the affiliation without the CRTC knowing or the CBC is in hot water. And yea, WJBK is not really the best alternative because of its Fox Ownership (WJBK probably just say no to that immediately) but WDIV works. Not surprisingly, there was less controversy with the Nexstar purchase of Tribune Media in 2019 than when Sinclair tried to aquire Tribune in 2018, probably because Nexstar weren't going to put any divested stations to an side-car company like Mission (other than WPIX but that was opinional (XD)) and also because Sinclair was acting stupid, ignorant and not like an good Broadcast owner for putting Must-runs and false information and FORCING its anchors to say what EXACTLY Sinclair said. (Madison, Wisconsin got lucky, thanks WISC-TV.) Also, Nexstar got KASW because of the Meredith—Belo weirdness in Phoenix with KPHO, KTVK, and KASW that also affected St. Louis with KSDK and KMOV. Also, Nexstar doesn't really want to own CW Stations without an backup for some reason in Phoenix and South Florida. (Miami—Fort Lauderdale) Which confuses me because they can do that in Jacksonville with WCWJ (The former WJKS) but can't/won't in Miami, like how does that work?? ... Ummmmm, how would I explain this? In Kansas (with the former Kansas State Network KSNW, KSNT, and (semi) KSNF, Nexstar didn't mess it up an lot, same in Missouri with KTVI/KPLR and KOLR/KRBK/KOZL. Don't think WDAF-TV is an worse product now from 2017. It might be an really dumb move from Nexstar, but I don't think there should be an RKO-General-type of TV Station investigation. (Sorry if I'm acting stupid or something, I was just randomly thinking about the 'you can remove Local TV from your cable provider' thing.) Yes, Nexstar is stupid sometimes, but that's how Broadcasting is for it feels like for an long time.
  5. The Detroit problem continues. What's actually with Nexstar in this case? (They haven't even mentioned replacements in any markets other than in Hampton Roads [WAVY-TV or WVBT] and Arcadiana [KLFY-TV]) They're gonna strip Hearst of The CW next?
  6. And they put the Charge! Network on WTVD and KFSN. Sinclair forgot they even own stations there.
  7. They just removed the Action out of the name because they know there's no Action in the newscasts anymore
  8. I hope the best for WZVN from someone living in a market with an Hearst station.
  9. KCTV5 and/or KYTV "KY3" is not getting GrayONE for at least until this summer.
  10. Yea, it doesn't make sense for WBKP/WBUP to be two different stations now, it made sense in 2005 but not in 2024.
  11. https://northpine.com/2024/04/12/nexstar-sells-up-station-to-be-operated-by-abc-affiliate/ Well, WJMN-TV in Escanaba—Marquette is leaving ownership of Nexstar and to ... Ralph. M. Oakley out of Quincy, Illinois (?) and operated by the ABC affiliate. Huh, interesting.
  12. It gets even weirder, there's two affiliates in Los Angeles (An subchannel on KTBN and KVMD) which makes almost no sense why there would be two affiliates of this network.
  13. Looks much cleaner honesty.... Old thing but... *Ahem* KWTV and KOTV In the 80s to 2010 included "The Spirit of Oklahoma" on their logos.
  14. I'm more confused about this whole case than anything else because the FCC would care more about Nexstar operating WPIX but yet at the same time, allow Coastal Television to aquire KTWO, do an mass firing like outta the end of the Mary Tyler Moore show, cut local news, and then lease SOME news operations to Newsnet outta Cadillac, Michigan. It's like, how is that helping anything? "Splitting up LMA's are good for some groups" unless you realize how to could be a little too messed up whatsoever especially if one of the stations had TRASHEY financial problems (like KNVN). I'm not saying that Henry or the FCC are correct in their decisions but it's like do we have to focus on that when it comes to Nexstar? Oh yea, since everybody is forgetting this, if Nexstar and/or Mission Broadcasting doesn't want to sell WPIX, they can sell any other stations to meet the cap/quota on Television stations. Basically, yea, FCC do better and actually care and do more research on stations before you request ownership groups to do some things. Sorry of this is long but damn, this is the dumbest thing in the world.
  15. I don't know, probably because of the cord-cutting that is going on.
  16. Yea, true. In Kansas City, KSHB hasn't really gotten out of 4th place for reasons that are clear (News operation starting in the 90s, staff from elsewhere, some turnover and other stuff) but I mean, it least it's not St. Louis.
  17. Given the fact WMAR has historically been in 3rd, I can't really say I'm surprised. I AM surprised that WBAL and 'JZ (WJZ) hasn't left the coverage of the Bridge collapse since 2 IN THE MORNING.
  18. Oh, this is interesting. Sinclair is putting The Tennis Channel's T2 on NextGen channels in 43 Television markets. https://www.nexttv.com/news/sinclair-putting-tennis-channels-t2-on-nextgen-broadcast-channels
  19. They could sell off smaller stations since those have less significance for Nexstar anyway, I think. (If Mission Broadcasting doesn't sell off WPIX, they can sell off some other stations yo keep the ownership cap at an FCC approved level.)
  20. Just move KGBT-TV to the KVEO tower. It's easy to tell them that they are moving transmitters, I think. Or is it difficult, I have no idea. Also, it was only acquired by Nexstar because of the failed Tribune-Sinclair merger
  21. KGW, Why did someone think this was okay? It wasn't.
  22. It doesn't look bad in the 90's. I assume it was used after it turned into a CBS affiliate.
  23. That doesn't sound right. That's not okay especially in a smaller market like where KNEP-TV serves.
  24. Hey, so I've been trying to talk about stuff, but it feels like I'm just invisible to everyone, so I really just want my voice to be heard. Also, just to remind anyone, everything beside reacting to stuff with a reaction has to be approved, and I've been waiting for everything to be approved and I don't know what to do.
