WABC did take a break in the overnight hours when 9/11 happened. In fact they weren’t even on 24/7. Yeah a lot of money will be lost in ad revenue. But they have big budgets though this ain’t some smaller market station.

ABC changing their logo; New graphics coming for ABC owned stations
GraphicsMan replied to Briella's topic in Graphics
Doubt it remember KGO didn’t adopt KABC’s variation until 2006. I don’t think they will. -
I remember when the west coast stations only showed time and temp in the morning shows only. It was the way for many west coast stations even after the early 00s the East coast stations had given up already on doing that by then. But stations on the west coast kept doing as far as 2012.

Well then it’s a clear promotion for him, I’m happy for him. He deserves it. Let’s just hope he stays for a long time obviously they flashed him a lot of money.
-
I don’t think he departing from WCBS he just leaving a few newscasts. I think he’ll remain at 11pm.
-
Wonder who will replace imh John and Barbara Gibbs were great they been a team as long as I’ve been alive. They are the most watched morning news in the Triangle.

WVBS posted a tweet about it in the day of the announcement, and Maurice posted it in his own instagram.

I still don't like how there “lead anchor” in local news what’s the point of that? Do they have a say in the newscast I can never get an explanation from anyone in the business. That is why I ask about talent order because my questions aren't being answered.
-
Wonder how the talent order will go will it be Sade Baderwina and Mike Marza or Mike Marza and Sade Baderwina at 5pm and 11pm coming next year. Maybe they'll be no talent open since they both will spilt the “lead anchors” role.

You know I'm glad you brought up sexism word a word that often used to much and loses meaning. I have been waiting for someone to bring this up see personally I thought some white female would bring up sexism with the 2 male co-anchors getting the job and my feeling was at some point there’d be so much outrage CBS will cave and that they'll end up demoting Maurice and keeping John Dickerson. Because personally I believe the feminst movement has been detrimental to black men (especially when it's perpetrated by white females) and since Mauruce doesn't have a huge profile they'd let him go though and keep Dickerson but maybe they let him go too. These 2 qualified people deserve it. Now obviously this is theory in my head but I knew someone would try to make a big deal out of this new lineup, and I knew it be done white female and Im glad it was brought up in this forum.

Can anyone show me a difference in numbers like the year-to-year change I feel like Sacramento made a higher gain. Tampa being larger than Miami is nuts.

Well with CW programming and limited syndies there practically an independent station so basically yeah they can fill those hours with station programming like news and in house shows like LA unscripted. Wont be surprised if the weekend become news all day either with CW not having a lot of sports programming.

ABC 7 Eyewitness News thread

He also has young kids Marc Brown does I don't think he's leaving anytime soon. -
I think he left because he was upset at the right-wing stance Univision had taken since that controversial Trump interview a few months ago. Of course it was suspicious because normally every presidential candidate get interviewed by him, it almost required and it wasn’t done by him instead It was Enrique Acevedo it marked a de facto return for him to Univision briefly. Also some Televisa/Univision executives are friends with the former president and they didn’t want Jorge to do the interview because they knew he be tough on Trump. But I think that’s why he is leaving he didn’t want to be apart of that, I do see him walking across the highway to Telemundo. But I don’t think he’ll get the 6:30 newscast over at the T network he might get a digital show or a contributor role, but remember he is 66 so I think Julio Vaquiero will stay in his role because he much younger he can be in the chair for a long time, Ramos could’ve had the Univision lead anchor chair till he died because there was no higher role and his legacy was intact and until December he’s a mainstay so there isn’t a another big job available for him other than contributing role and a digital show should he cross over. . Shot his long time co-anchor Maria is a contributor in English he could do that also for NBCuniversal should he cross over appear on NBC News programs (she of course is on ABC), but the same was for her she also up there in age too she can’t really get an big anchor job either. So I think he’ll have limited opportunity. That why he said in his announcement “he’ll announce other professional opportunities, after he leaves”. As for Univision they blew it for Leon Krause who left after that Trump interview he was most likely going to replace him should Jorge in an event he retired but obviously that won’t happen because he left before Jorge did. I honestly can’t see a good successor for him Univision could flip to solo format like Telemundo does at 6:30 snd the other networks abd give Ilia managing editor role because she’s the new lead anchor and it’s historic also she the first black lead anchor of a Spanish network.

I'm noticing they not sending all anchor teams to host from the convention, some are staying in studio. But this is because I assume Chicago has done these conventions before there the city that's done them the most.

Eight CBS Stations to Ditch CW and Go Independent This Fall
GraphicsMan replied to AKA's topic in General TV
I have a feeling CBS might buy WNCN. No CBS just didn’t want WRAL they wanted money plain and simple and Capitol said go touch grass. CBS only option was WNCN. -
I was channel flipping in my NY hotel PIX wasn’t on at 5pm and 6pm. It was airing Nancy Grace instead.
-
Probably in the spring time.

It was cheaply ran anyway.
