  1. The business of affiliation switches, again CBS isn’t doing anything to try to get viewers during this time of confusion and chaos for viewers they should want some windfall from this. I don’t think they’ll ever be a switch ever again, Miami is gonna just have the unique distinction of being a major market where a station carries 2 affiliations. The winner really is Sunbeam and WSVN this mean more money for them in terms of profit and ad revenue so there gonna keep this for a long time. And eventually they’ll probably buy WDFL the station that helping relay this new ABC signal.
  2. Probably Marla, I wouldn’t mind seeing a female anchor team. Christine and Marla or Marla and Christine whatever management bills it as. I liked him sometimes like I said he treated this job as if he was a national anchor, but I don’t hate him. I don’t think it’s nice to level or compare him to other people who anchored at FOX where he’s better than them or not, he earned his marks y’all are being mean.
  3. We need a black Telemundo, with news, shows I don’t know about sports. I never watch anything Byron does keep in mind he killed the only black news outlet and merged it into TheGrio, saying we need a “good news channel”, I could rant about older black people for hours anyways we need a news outlet targeted toward us or a digital multicast network that has both news and shows. We need a Jorge Ramos (like the former Univision anchor) but for black people we could name him Laquerious Holt lol. We could have commentators like Dr. Umar Johnson, and Tariq Nasheed, and Judge Joe Brown, Paris Denard. but no Roland Martin (I don’t like him).
  4. I do think he tried to be like a network anchor for a local station he was “primary anchor” for all breaking news events. He constantly never traded off the introductions during the 10pm news he always lead it off and never let Christine do it though later he let her do it during the 5pm shows. Honestly I was okay with him but I have a feeling Christine wasn’t Im telling you they never let her be the lead anchor after all these years it a shame. I hope he gets a national job.
  5. Where is FOX Soul they have a chance to be better than BET (which I have a feeling is gonna go go crap under skydance) and Bounce TV. Can black people just have one network that caters to them.
  6. And what CBS doing… well nothing as usual.
  7. He didn’t even work at those stations he worked at WFOR.
  8. I wonder how many stations there gonna cut I know KIRO and WTSP in Seattle and Tampa respectively have there CBS affiliation days numbered. Oh you know what I just forgot CBS owns WBXI in Indianapolis, CBS already put Nexstar in there place by taking the CBS affiliation away from one of there stations WJMN and they could do the same in Indy. Or I could see Skydance buying Nexstar’s WTTV, KOIN and the NC station. I could also see them buying 2 more stations in Texas.
  9. I mean Miami a pretty big market using Marza, Krauth, Ozebek and Oqeundo. Former Miami newsers to promote is a good idea. I don’t know what Miami market rank was in 1988, and 1995, but that was long time ago people were literally used to everything until now. So they have to pull out everybody to get viewers used to the change.
  10. This was obviously poorly planned. CBS choose the wrong battle.
  11. No I didn’t count them.
  12. I hope there no more switches in Miami. Hopefully…
  13. Yes the 1998 switch which was the dumbest move on Sinclair broadcasting part between WLFL and at the time new station WRAZ. WRDC after losing NBC I believe assumed UPN afterwards wasn’t really an affiliation switch since WNCN was independent before becoming NBC. And then WRDC was the one losing NBC and becoming independent and picked up UPN afterwards but yes I’m counting the 1998 switch.
  14. Im just starting to realize Miami number 2 with the most affiliation switches with 3 89’, 95’, 25’. Raleigh, North Carolina has had the most with 4 affiliation switches 85’, 95’, 98’, 16’. But I’m a couple of years I see this happening again in the 305. I wonder if Miami is coming to tie us. lol.
  15. I know WSVN was ever purchased by FOX, Fox would have a hard time trying to standardize it.
  16. He still won’t be David overall though. ABC is too familiar.
  17. Mhm… I’ll have to think about that a little harder…
  18. No it because they KARE lol…
  19. It feels like a rip off of WTVT the background behind the anchor desk really gives it away.
  20. I can’t tell if this is a joke lol. Is this the first time you’ve watched a television news broadcast? I’m starting to think people do live under rocks
  21. That really unfair, especially that a lot of young tv personalities get to large markets in under 10 years more like 6 years a face pressure. A long time ago it would take a decade to hit a large market. Honestly I don’t like big markets personally I prefer small markets even with the shitty pay because at least you’re comfortable mistakes are made but at least you don’t have to deal with high pressure and inflated egos of being in a big market. I told myself if I reenter I’m not even gonna go my hometown, ima try to stay 30 and up. Kansas City is the most tolerable market.
  22. I wonder if they’ll pull any talent from the competiting stations.
  23. CBS affiliates will probably expand there news to an hour. But this is a big deal though.
  24. See that entails another problem I’m autistic I worked in a newsroom and I loved it because it was mostly if not 100% virtual. But since KMSG shut down I had to work office jobs my disability can’t handle the social interaction I get extremely burned out. So imagine if I was working in a big city newsroom like the newsroom of WPVI in Philly or WABC in New York or KABC in Los Angeles those narcissistic folks the ones who wanna be on tv like you said would have a field day with me everyday because I just figured out I can’t mask my disability anymore and in a big city newsroom I could see myself getting made fun of a lot. That why if I ever decide to reenter this business I wanna work in a small market, or Raleigh-Durham (my home market) or in a mountain town, because being in a small market being autistic and different is more acceptable there than in a big city. I considered moving to Asheville, North Carolina after school is done or working in a smaller NC market there 10 markets that cover all 100 NC counties (believe it or not Clay County, NC is covered by the Atlanta market). So they’re are only technically 3 big markets serving North Carolina. Anyways there is hope though there this autistic meteorologist who works at WITN in Greenville, NC about an hour and 90 minutes outside of Raleigh I could see myself being a reporter in a market that size, because that great for an autistic person it’s small mistakes can be accepted there, and you won’t feel bad for being different it’s that or the mountains. Btw that meteorologist might be the first autistic tv weatherman in broadcast history. Also on TV you have to be yourself I will say as an autistic person being yourself gets you fired from your job that what’s masking does. Now I’m saying all this because the job I just had made me accept my autism because of how bad I was treated at first I hid it but a week or 2 later I came out and told them I was autistic. That wasn’t until the boss was talking about marijuana use in the workplace, and we had a meeting and he pointed me out specifically and said you’re different you don’t need marijuana. A few days later I told him I was autistic he said I know. Long story short I was called retard*d a few times and when he left the company the big boss said that he said that I was a failed abortion. Now I forgave him, though I was hurt I felt like I was the problem for a minute I later left that job. After that I was like I just can’t see myself doing tv news at least not in a big market, not even outside the state of North Carolina. I don’t think It could work. Yeah so this is another thing this maybe because of my disability or not but I formed romantic parasocial relationships with tv meteorologist and tv news anchors and reporters. I think that is dangerous as well as it was for me and its why I’m rethinking going back into this industry. But yeah that another thing they just wanna be on tv and share there pretty looks. It could be because of my disability since I get no relationships of friends that I feel attached to people but still I think Ike was right it more about being on TV than the job.
  25. Something tells me that Gen Z tv personalities especially females will be very colorful people. My generation is just weird man. I like the millennial tv personalities a little better, I just have this awful feeling about my generation it why I’m afraid to go into tv news I’ve considered to look at other things.
