  1. And people forget that Rather was #1 for several years after Cronkite retired. CBSEN slipped to second in about 1987.. a strong second and still occasionally first. A big part of that slide was the switch to people meters for overnights in major markets. And another factor in the early/mid 90’s was CBS losing NFL to FOX and several powerhouse CBS affiliates in major markets to FOX.
  2. I believe it might be Clickspring. Oops nope. It’s BDI.
  3. Yeah this desk is from BDI. It mimics the 96 Rather desk. It’s smaller. We had the same desk at my former station. BDI did the 96 set and the Couric set. I think this desk was used for Up to the Minute.
  4. Or perhaps, “SKYEYE”.
  5. Same designer. Clickspring Design.
  6. What an awful update to a pretty decent DEVLIN set. That desk is terrible - Typical Sinclair to save $$ by online doing only a small strip of plexiglass at the front of the desk. Just bad overall.
  7. Local tv is going away. Network apps will be the future. The tv stations that go local news heavy or can create some sort of targeted local brand will be the survivors. All else will go away or be minimized. The network over the air affiliate model is dead.
  8. His numbers have been great since his debut. Better than expected. And he’s actually beating Muir/abc in the key demo a few times a week.
  9. DEVLIN SET. Very similar to WTVD 11
  10. Byron doesn’t seem to last very long at any place he works. Just sayin.
  11. Yeah I predicted this when they rebranded. There’s a reason Gray is removing all the network logos on their station logos…. Watch for more of this.
  12. I used to work with them here in the Bakersfield market. Talked to Jackie earlier today. They are thrilled to be moving back to California- specifically the central coast. I created the gfx below for social media.
  13. This set is from FX Group.
  14. *Fernandez. Juan Fernandez.
  15. And CBS has been actively trying to sell their buildings on West 57th for the past year or so.
  16. Yeah. BDI for sure.
  17. Actully it’s nothing like KGTV’s current set. Nothing like the layout, anchor desk or weather set. The KGTV set was designed by Park Place. This set was designed by Sinclair’s in-house design team. It’s similar to KEYE, WLOS and a few other Sinclair stations.
