Viper550 292 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 So it looks like Toledo's NBC 24 is joining the "drop your channel number and just use your callsigns only" bandwagon and re-branding as just WNWO. But the new logo, if this is the new logo, is probably one of the most laziest things I have ever seen You've got to be kidding me.
abric 181 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Sadly No. That is their new logo. Started using it in July as part of a complete rebranding of the station. :ack: Also, they switched to 16:9 widescreen on Monday along with new graphics and music
Guest Former Member 207 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Just utterly lazy...they should at least put the peacock in the logo too
ColumbusNewsFan 217 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Out of all the Toledo station that I saw when I was up there - WNWO was that one that scared me me for a while. I feel your pain, Toledo. :puke: :ack:
TennTV1983 807 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Looking at their current logo, compared to the one they had before, this one is very bland and generic.
jdcnow 14 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I think we can all agree on this one - and to quote the late, great Mrs. Slocomb: "And I am unanimous in this..." Two words >> Ta. Key.
Viper550 292 Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 It's finally on the website ... which also got an equally bizarre re-name to "northwestohio.com." Seriously guys. (toledoonthemove didn't sound that bad)
mre29 1563 Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 It looks even worse with "powered by" added to it!
Hometown News 59 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 It's a shame. This was their last good logo: I like the callsign branding trend, but you've got to do it better than WNWO. What's the point of only using your call letters if they're going to be barely visible in the logo?

What's the point of only using your call letters if they're going to be barely visible in the logo? To be fair, that was a Television by Design package. Back when TVbD was a good design house. (Compare with the Ackerley station logos — also, the type choices give it away, particularly the use of Meta and Bank Gothic.)

Half-a$$ed bum job if I ever knew one... and the new graphics don't make it any more or less pleasant. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ON9CbET0_ng As for the website...is it asking much just for a simple [call letter].com job?
qunewsguy 378 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I stumbled across the design reel for WNWO's new look recently on Vimeo... I'll be damned if I can find it again. The entire look was done by one freelance guy from a small-market station in Illinois. Not sure how he got picked to do a new look for WNWO, but it's definitely NOT news-y.
WAVY 10 Fan 233 Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Why do I have a feeling that logo designer's kids could have done a better job that what came out?
ABC5EyewitnessNewsCenter 0 Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Their current logo has to be among the worst TV station logos out there!
