Talk about a promotion ... Good wise choice for once from NBC. Love Seth Myers.

All kidding aside, this really is a good idea. It'll create a nice synergy between the shows that has really been non-existent for 30 years. With the two productions being just a few floors away from each other (if that), there could be a good collaberative effort put forth from time to time between 'Tonight' and 'Late Night', something that couldn't be said before. Johnny and Dave were on good terms (Carson preferring Letterman as his successor), and they put on two decidedly different shows on opposite coasts, rarely getting in each other's way. Obviously, any good will was lost in the short time Jay and Dave were paired, and things went well with Leno and O'Brien until the shit hit the fan. Jay and Jimmy seem to get along, but the age difference seems to come off as awkward whenever they're together. Since Fallon and Meyers worked together for so long at SNL, NBC could really market the kind of "buddy" relationship between the two. That said, the close production should give NBC the opportunity to differentiate the shows, so they would not compete as much as go hand-in-hand.

And the one who will replace Fallon on Late Night? SNL's Seth Meyers. Some analysts saw this coming.

When will I get my Nightline back at the regular timeslot? I guess that's never.

Nightline is as good as cancelled. ABC can't keep pouring money into a news program that's lost nearly 2 million viewers since moving to its new timeslot.

Yes, they lost 2 million viewers, but it's par for the course. If you move Leno of Letterman to 12:35, they'd lose as may sets of eyes, too. Bottom line - it's doing well in the demo, and it's winning in total viewers. Seeing that it has an older demo in the first place, the fact that it's still succeeding makes its future seem certain...for now.

Eyes of our Generation is reporting that there's going to be quite a show just getting the set built. Studio 6A (Former "Late Night" studio) has been vacated by Dr. Oz. Construction will soon begin on a "new" (read: duplicate of the current) set for Late Night which Jimmmy Fallon will continue to use until his new Tonight Show set is finished in Studio 6B (Historically the "Tonight Show" studio, also formerly WNBC).

No word on what happens with Late Night/Seth Meyer's set after Fallon moves back to Studio 6A.
