LexTVandRadio 418 Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Just noticed this one. I wonder who copied who. WSDU or WLEX. WDSU open from 98 WLEX open Both had a triangle theme.

C Block 1566 Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I ran across some footage of KEZI in Eugene, which seems to use a bootleg cross between the KTLA look and the old KYW look. And it doesn't look that bad, really...

And it doesn't look that bad, really... Maybe that's not a knock off and is the KCPQ package by Hothaus. http://www.hothauscreative.com/pages/affiliate/kcpq.html

LexTVandRadio 418 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 For sure, it was a lot of purple. Graphics, set and website. Purple.
Mrtraveler01 738 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Just noticed that WKTV got some new graphics and the L3's they use look pretty similar to the Sinclair package. (Actually I think it looks nicer than the Sinclair package) 1

(Actually I think it looks nicer than the Sinclair package) It does look so much better than the Sincrap package. Well done WKTV. -- Matt
NewsMaster 226 Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 It does look so much better than the Sincrap package. Well done WKTV. -- Matt I was thinking Raycom when I first saw it. Their weather graphics are a mashup of the two IMO.
Hexagonal10 84 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I was thinking Raycom when I first saw it. Their weather graphics are a mashup of the two IMO. I was thinking Belo added
LexTVandRadio 418 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 So Belo and Sinclair had a baby and this is what you get? 2
Hexagonal10 84 Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 So Belo and Sinclair had a baby and this is what you get? I see a little Scripps with the glass frames too... it's like they were put in a blender 1

(Actually I think it looks nicer than the Sinclair package) This is a really nice look for such a small-market station. Well-executed. 1
Samantha 2902 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 WVIT 1998: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=WwrmJb8ANQ0;t=30 versus KRBC 2000: 1
qunewsguy 378 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Bumping a month-old post, but KRBC is probably not a knock-off. A now-defunct company did the look for WVIT and WVTM at the same time, and they also did a few other NBC affiliates. Here's WVTM from 1999 1
Viper550 292 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Well, KQDS isn't using the KDVR ripoff anymore. But they now seem to now be using a knock on the current Fox O&O graphics on at least the L3s. Is it me, or does it look a bit better with the fade and the flipped layout?
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Well, KQDS isn't using the KDVR ripoff anymore. But they now seem to now be using a knock on the current Fox O&O graphics on at least the L3s. Is it me, or does it look a bit better with the fade and the flipped layout? Is it me or does KQDS create awful opens for its newscasts? Its so plain and so boring. Also, is Diane Alexander still there? I thought she left for a producer job at WCCO-TV 4 in the Twin Cities.
WestleyWolf 122 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Well, KQDS isn't using the KDVR ripoff anymore. But they now seem to now be using a knock on the current Fox O&O graphics on at least the L3s. Is it me, or does it look a bit better with the fade and the flipped layout? KQDS is stuck in 2006. and Even FOX O&Os did better than that in 2006.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 KQDS is stuck in 2006. and Even FOX O&Os did better than that in 2006. And it looks like a hodgepodge of 3 different packages. Ripping off the CBS O&Os with those sweep nurbs.
tyrannical bastard 4033 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 And most importantly, Arial has no place on broadcast television. 2
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 KQDS is stuck in 2006. and Even FOX O&Os did better than that in 2006. And that's funny because KQDS didn't even have a news department until 2007.
Viper550 292 Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 As seen here, at the Philippine Basketball Association on Sports5 (could've made that bug a bit less huge?), something looks a bit familiar (and eew, Impact?!) http://deadspin.com/ivan-johnson-got-banned-for-life-from-playing-basketbal-1758982714?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_facebook&utm_source=deadspin_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow 1
Viper550 292 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 To go with WBBH's "take" of Look F, sister station WZVN got an actually not too bad version of KABC's old/KGO's graphics. It's clear that Fort Myers, besides the Fox station, is a market full of knock-offs. 1
