Sheinelle Jones leaving FOX29

She gave viewers her 2 weeks notice at the end of today's show, saying she wants to spend more time with her three kids- http://www.myfoxphilly.com/story/24975958/good-days-sheinelle-jones-says-good-bye

An article on Philly.com says pretty much the same- http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/entertainment/celebrities_gossip/Fox-29s-Sheinelle-Jones-announces-departure.html

Big bummer for WTXF. Her back-and-forth with Mike was probably more than any station management could have dreamed. Their recent viral videos seemed to have gone viral for the best reasons, highlighting their chemistry rather than flubs.

So- promote from within or hire? I always liked Kerry Barrett on the AM shift and Karen Hepp on nights when they were still feeling the lineup out.

Ditto. I didn't think the earlier chemistry between Mike Jerrick and Donya Archer could ever be topped - and Mike and Sheinelle easily and completely topped them. It's a big loss - though at least Mike is staying on and they can easily slide Hepp or Dawn Timmeney into the co-anchor slot.

When Sheinelle was saying her final goodbye and she started off by introducing some of the lyrics of a song from the Broadway musical "Wicked"... I was saying to myself... I bet it's "For Good"... and it was! :)

I remember when she came in and Good Day was in a transition phase from George Mallet and Kerri-Lee Halkett and a series of anchors came along to be partnered with Sheinelle (John Anderson and Clayton Morris to name a few). She was an image of stability for Good Day and Mike Jerrick's return to Good Day just further enhanced that.
