mvcg66b3r 103 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 From ftballfan on radiodiscussions.com: In Traverse City-Cadillac: [ABC affiliate WGTU] used to air the 700 Club for years and years. CBS affiliate WWTV and FOX affiliate WFQX each air paid programming during the day (and have for years; for example, I can always remember WWTV having paid programming in the 10am hour). The 700 Club now airs on WFQX at 10am. Also, NBC affiliate WPBN airs an infomercial at 12:30pm. The largest city I can think of where this happens is Pittsburgh, where FOX affiliate WPGH airs infomercials at 9am and 9:30am. Any other examples of this?
MikePulse 319 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 WESH. 12:30. Between News and Days of our Lives. I still think it's a waste.

Any other examples of this? WBTV has on and off between 9 and 10 am if they do not have enough syndicated programming. Most recently they did at 9 am before Millionaire. They moved Millionaire from 7:30 pm to 9:30 am and America Now from 9 and 9:30 am to 7:30 pm several months back. Now Millionaire is on WAXN and America Now is cancelled. It's quite annoying that they air so many infomercials. They are a heritage CBS station that could do a LOT better with that.
mvcg66b3r 103 Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 In Little Rock, KTHV (CBS) airs an infomercial at 9:30am. http://www.zap2it.com/rmp/tvgrid/tvgridprint?lineupid=USA-AR03542-X&tz=US/Central&time=1410789600
tyrannical bastard 4676 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Ever since WKRG canned their 9am news back in 2009, the 9am hour has been infomercials. Even leading up to the cancellation and staff reductions, they had been only doing a half hour news at 9am and using the 9:30 slot for an infomercial.
MidwestTV 1358 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 WESH. 12:30. Between News and Days of our Lives. I still think it's a waste. They should just expand their noon newscast out to an hour...
AaronQ 309 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 They should just expand their noon newscast out to an hour... WSOC-TV used to do that, now they cut it to half an hour, and at 12:30 they put "Right This Minute".
ns8401 995 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 WDIV 1230-1pm after their noon news, used to be an episode of Jeopardy!
NEOMatrix 1319 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 WKYC used to at 12:30 between Live on Lakeside and Days of Our Lives. According to TitanTV, they seem to be using the time now to air the NBCKids E/I block.

According to TitanTV, they seem to be using the time now to air the NBCKids E/I block. A large-market "traditional three" affiliate airing E/I on weekdays? That's strange. I thought KTVU (not "traditional three" but powerhouse FOX affiliate) was crazy scheduling theirs weekdays after the Noon news. As for another large market "traditional three" station that is known for infomercials and low-budget syndication on weekdays is WNCN in Raleigh-Durham. It appears they dropped the daytime infomercials...for now. There are also a number of "traditional three" stations, mainly in the south, that carry "The 700 Club" Monday through Friday.

Glimmer 340 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 The last time I can remember a station in Milwaukee carrying infomercials in daytime was WDJT in the early 2000s; they put an infomercial at 12pm for a solid six or so months. There's now a noon newscast there.
AaronQ 309 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Now Family Feud occupies that time slot. Really? I thought WJZY still have Feud? I didn't know that.
MikePulse 319 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 They should just expand their noon newscast out to an hour... Ironically, that's what happened BEFORE they cut it to size.... :bang:
Nelson R. 585 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Really? I thought WJZY still have Feud? I didn't know that. Not as of this week. WAXN airs it at 7 and 7:30. WMYT had it at 6 and 6:30 and WJZY had it mostly at 2 and 2:30, also briefly at 3 and 3:30.

I thought KTVU (not "traditional three" but powerhouse FOX affiliate) was crazy scheduling theirs weekdays after the Noon news. WKYC has aired E/I at 12:30pm if NBC sports programming cuts into the weekend daytime hours (the Olympics or certain golf tournaments). It's really because the E/I rule forces the placement of such programming for three hours a week after 7am, no matter what. Thank you so much, FCC. /s

Thank you so much, FCC. /s The Weekdays at 12:30 E/I might stay that way for quite some time due to Premier League on Saturdays and a Browns pre-game show on Sundays plus WKYC expanded its morning newscasts to insane levels.
mvcg66b3r 103 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Posted September 12, 2014 NBC Shreveport airs The 700 Club at 11am and an infomercial at 12:30pm. http://www.zap2it.com/rmp/tvgrid/tvgridprint?lineupid=USA-LA17443-X&tz=US/Central&time=1410793200
tw-804 194 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 WWBT used to air infomercials weekdays at 12:30pm after the news until "America Now" debuted a few years ago. Now "Fix It & Finish It" is in that time slot. WRLH currently airs E/I programming at 8:30am after "Morning Marketplace". I remember WTVR aired informercials in the morning sometime in the early 2000's.
mvcg66b3r 103 Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Slightly off-topic, but WLMT (CW) Memphis airs infomercials from 8-9pm on Saturday and again from 7-8pm on Sunday.
TriangleTriadMediaNews 267 Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 WRAZ/FOX Raleigh runs an infomercial at noon and 700 Club at 1pm. Up until a few weeks ago, WNCN/NBC aired an infomercial at 12:30pm after Cash Cab.
