toxictwister00 25 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I noticed they changed over to a new music package today in their open/teaser. I'm not sure who or what package it is, but here's a video of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l8p0WUpojs
ToriElectra 292 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I'm not sure what it is, but it sounds good- they've been using the same signature since 1998. The music since 2010 was just that except faster.
mike91 67 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I'm getting a Stephen Arnold vibe from it. Parts of it sound similar to CBS Local. Not terrible, but I don't like it as much as "Coverage".
Big Country News 435 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I can confirm it's Stephen Arnold. I have inside sources and video from the early stages of this package's development.
toxictwister00 25 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Stephen Arnold is an interesting choice for WSB. I like this package better than "Coverage", not that it wasn't good either.
d247 43 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Sounds like the package KOKI introduced about a week ago, replacing the Fox O&O package. Wonder if Cox is about to standardize?
Hexagonal10 84 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 It sounded like a mash of Fox O&O with CBS Local.
CircleSeven 1960 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 That's the same music WHTM just switched to. With a lot of stations switching to Arnold as of late, I think it was time for Arnold to make new themes.
WFTV Channel 9 80 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Nice theme! I'm not sure if I like it more than "Coverage" yet though. I hope WFTV gets this theme. I'm not really a fan of "Inergy."
WFTV Channel 9 80 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I just uploaded KOKI's open with the new theme.
jero23 105 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Interesting package indeed. I didn't expect WSB to change their music but it'll have to grow on me...
skbl17 188 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 This'll have to grow on me. I still think "News 2000" is the best WSB music package though.
Hexagonal10 84 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I just uploaded KOKI's open with the new theme. Breaking news sounded like a cut of Extreme
24994J 5621 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Apparently WHTM is using this new theme, as well.
atlnews2 591 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Sounds cheap. All Stephen Arnold Packages sound cheap
hathawaynson2 39 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 All Stephen Arnold Packages sound cheap Does that Include the CBS Local package?
atlnews2 591 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Does that Include the CBS Local package? Yes, in my opinion CBS Local sounds like a cheap ripoff of The Enforcer
hathawaynson2 39 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Yes, in my opinion CBS Local sounds like a cheap ripoff of The Enforcer Oh, yes it is sounding terrible. Even open A of the CBS LOCAL.
atlnews2 591 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 SouthernMedia-NMSA says the package is called WSB 2015 News Package.
swillh2k2 203 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Thought about it when WSB launched it, but could this be a standardized package for all Cox stations?
detroiter313 181 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Cox is only one of the few station groups that never standardize anything, so it could be a group-wide package, or it can be used only for WSB (among other non-Cox stations).
swillh2k2 203 Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Cox is only one of the few station groups that never standardize anything, so it could be a group-wide package, or is it used only for WSB (among other non-Cox stations). But KOKI is owned by Cox, so it will be interesting what their other stations do.
ABC 7 Denver 1729 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I can confirm it's Stephen Arnold. I have inside sources and video from the early stages of this package's development. Yeah. Not something I'd tout, since Stephen himself confirmed that database is private under contract.
