johnnya2k6 171 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 My apologies for bumping this up, but here's a recap of how all Atlanta stations fared in May: http://oneatlanta.weebly.com/latest-news/may-2016-sweeps-overview
tyrannical bastard 4060 Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Lagniappe in Mobile has the breakdown of May ratings and the effects of Code Readers versus the year before when Mobile/Pensacola was still a diary market... It should be noted that these are 25-54 shares and do not mention WEAR at all and they are oblivious to the other 9pm shows that compete with WALA. http://lagniappemobile.com/code-readers-tighten-local-tv-race/ Bottom line, WALA and WKRG are losing major shares while WPMI is seeing slight gains. The pool of viewers has shrunk too...

My guess is the numbers are twice to three times the estimates...of which are grossly under reported..

tyrannical bastard 4060 Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 WEAR is probably #3 in the market overall but with a dominant lead on the Florida side (and virtually invisible in Mobile itself). Probably the case. They've usually tied with fellow Sinclair counterpart WPMI in some time periods. WKRG has the most to lose since reality has set in with code readers and their impending merger with Nexstar. They've tended to skew older and ratings-wise, benefited from the diary system.
atlnews2 599 Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 WSB sister property, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, has been given permission to publish year to date ratings averages for the Atlanta market. I guess WSB was able to recover in the ratings http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/08/15/atlanta-tv-ratings-wsb-tv-dominates-most-of-the-day-in-local-news-and-programming/

YAY!!!!!!!!!
toxictwister00 25 Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 The irony is eventhough WSB is still dominate overall, they also had some of the biggest decline in ratings overall year to year compared to WAGA, WXIA, and WGCL. Especially in the evening/late night.
TheRolyPoly 2641 Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 Fox 5 is #1 at 3:00 (beating Y&R) and 4:00 (beating WSB)?! YAY!!!!!!!!! But WSB is still beating WGCL by a longshot for local news at 4:00pm. WSB is still winning its competition in all local weekday newscasts that it airs.
