KHOU getting a new set.

These Tegna sets are just so generic looking. I pray that WKYC at least gets a set that's worthy of replacing that current set, which dates all the way back to 2001.

Let me guess... the same set since moving into the new 'digital broadcast center'

WLTX in Columbia SC has the best Tegna set so far this year. It looks a whole lot better and far less generic than the other sets.

Yikes!!! Same crap set they did in Seattle. The main desk has a folding table feel to it, and what's with the large circular riser out front? I'm sure that presents a shot blocking nightmare to the directors. LMAO!

Out of the past twenty years of KHOU sets..this is horrendous. And they have had some great sets from MBD and even FX Group. This is a downgrade for them

I don't think it's horrendous, it's bland, that's for sure. That being said, they could really improve on the blandness by adding some logos on the set. Print some durantrans with the CBS eye, or KHOU11, something that will take away from the empty feeling these Tegna sets exhibit.

The 2 shot and the standup for the 2 anchors look fine.

But the rest is just a mess - cramped, no depth. The 4 shot is cable access grade and I can't see any evidence of branding on the set.

They just shrunk KUSA's set. The cool thing about KUSA's desk is that they can seat guests on the front of it and make it feel like a roundtable. That effect is lost with such a smaller desk, and it just looks cramped.

What happened to Jack Morton? Back in the day, people would kill for a set from them.

In the last year or so, Jack Morton's done competent work with WLS, WNBC and KNSD, just to name a few. Tegna wants what Tegna wants, and even the best designers are severely limited when the client wants certain elements like the "roundtable", etc, AND for it to be done on the cheap.
