Oldest news music still in use?

Is this the headline bed that you're referring to when you say teletype? The music was swapped out in 2010 for something that sounded similar but was definitely more contemporary.

The bed heard at the beginning here actually (I don't think) was part of the original package. The headlines were read without any music until the late 90s.

all Univision Stations still uses a Package with the Turning Point Signature by Mark Haffner. the one they've used since 1997.

The signature might be the same (and actually it's slightly shorter now), but it's been recut at least twice.

KFOR-TV Custom Music Package by Wow & Flutter (used since 1997)

That's definitely lasted a while. Heck, it's gone through two ownership changes.

I wanted to look up this company but got very few hits. It was the venture of Jerry Brunskill and Dale Goulett, who were in a band together called Limited Warranty. It was based in Minnesota until moving (at least partially) to Santa Monica in 2001.

They were still around in 2002 and making music aired on UPN, NBC and ABC. For UPN, they composed Turn it Up, the ID and image package that accompanied their logo change; other clients included the TV series She Spies (which lasted two seasons). Their work for ABC was the Movie of the Week open. By 2006, the theme for the syndicated Rachael Ray show was also in their portfolio.

In 2006/07, Wow+Flutter restructured as Gerald Brunskill Music (GBM), Wow and Flutter Post and Rellim Reeb Studios.

Unfortunately that music won't survive a 3rd ownership change
