bmasters1 382
KOUS 1982 News 4 opening (this from the former small-market NBC station of Billings/Hardin, MT [licensed to Hardin] that is now Fox4 KHMT in that area) What I especially liked about this one is the announcer's spiel (announcer as yet unknown): "News 4...with Ed Connors...Ric Bramble...Russ Riesinger on sports...and Barry Walcott on weather." Info Junkie 1286
I’d like to add KOIN’s 2000 graphics made by Giant Octopus. @ColDayNews you were right, GO kicked butt in its early days.

bmasters1 382
WTVN Action 6 News Update 1982 (11 P.M. late edition) "This is Action 6 News Update...with Tom Ryan, Michelle Gailiun, meteorologist Don Carson in WeatherCenter 6, and Lonnie Haskins on sports." (as Update title flashes with last note of title track) "Now, Action 6 News Update." bmasters1 382
Bumping this up: KXXV Channel 25 (ABC Waco/Temple/Killeen, TX): 1988 10 P.M. opening for Eyewitness News 25 Tonight; at the beginning of this KXXV montage from user kyndle hewett (0:06 mark); what I like about this one is the same one I liked about that KOUS opening I put here before (namely, the billing): "Now, Eyewitness News 25 Tonight...with Ric Streed and Mary Rogers on news...meteorologist Stu Bowersox with your Central Texas forecast...and sports director Ray Peters with more than the score. This is the late-breaking edition of Eyewitness News 25."
MediaZone4K 1783
Favorite Openings: WSVN 1993, flashy tabloid awesomeness! WSVN 1995: Equal flashiness! WNBC had a great jazzy redesign in the late 80s early 90s. Great quality for the 80s and very New York City oriented. WNBC 4 in the mid to late 80s, featuring the signature lightning bolt striking the four logo. Their graphics prior to this were great as well Finally, IMO the last decent graphics package The Today Show had, from 2009
bmasters1 382
At the 3:33 mark of this WCBS opens omnibus, an opening from that NYC CBS O&O w/Palmer that I commend highly for the announcer and opening (announcement is different from the "Anything Can Happen In New York" spiel): the evening edition from around '85 or '86... "Channel 2 News at 6...with Jim Jensen, Rolland Smith, Warner Wolf on sports, and Dr. Frank Field with weather."

MediaZone4K 1783
WSVN Again! This short lived, car racing video game sounding theme from 1998. Starts at 0:10 WSVN 1991. bmasters1 382
Low quality, but I still think it's one of the best, because it was different from many Hearst/Argyle talent bumpers/billing segments: this is WMUR Channel 9 (ABC Manchester, NH), WMUR News 9 billing from sometime in 2002 (looks like it might have been a late edition [not much is said about it, except that it's from 2002]): "No one covers New Hampshire like we do. You're watching WMUR News 9...with Tom Griffith...Jennifer Vaughn...meteorologist Mike Haddad...and Charlie Sherman on sports. Now, News 9 continues." (Billing was from Sean Caldwell; just found out through the SouthernMedia NMSA that that was the name of the announcer then on WMUR.) On each name, the vertical bar goes in one direction, while the name comes in from the opposite direction and goes to the bottom of the screen (a form that was also used for KITV Channel 4 in Honolulu around that same time [another ABC station that at the time was also a Hearst/Argyle property, and is now just Hearst]). bmasters1 382
3:58 mark of this WOKR/WHAM (Channel 13, ABC Rochester, NY) omnibus-- "You're watching NewsSource 13 at 11, with Don Alhart, Ginny Ryan, chief meteorologist Bill Peterson, and Mike Catalana on sports. NewsSource 13-- more local news, more local experience." (Probably late-90s, owing to graphics and music; announcer's name is Lee Lively, per NMSA)

MediaZone4K 1783
WNBC's awesome News Channel 4 promo from 2003! WWOR 2005, UPN 9 News may have been at the bottom but the theme was fire. WCBS 2 from the mid 90s. That striking chord followed by the loud brass like opening was epic. WCBS from 1989-92. Back when the CBS enforcer theme went hard!
