CNN Has launched a standalone weather app.  It was released this morning on the Apple App Store & on the Google Play store. 

CNN for years has done weather forecasts on air, now they have a  standalone app.

I Wonder how well this will do, considering we alreday have The Weather Channel App, Weather Nation App, Fox Weather App, ect.   I'm guessing it might do okay.

CCN is lying. Its NOT available on Android (at least yet).

 

I already have TWC and FOX Weather on my phone, and even The Weather Network and WeatherCAN (Environment Canada's official weather app), but not AccuWeather or WeatherNation.

 

I also have weather apps from WSVN, WFTV, WTVT, and the 1°Outside Weather Network.

I've tried many, many weather apps over the years, a number of which are still on my phone.

 

As for the CNN Weather app, it's not bad. I definitely appreciate the clean, uncluttered design.

 

That said, this is the app icon:

 

If the text below it didn't include "CNN", you wouldn't know it was a CNN app.

I'm really surprised that Ted Turner didn't try and make a CNN Weather Channel for cable since he was the creator of the cable TV bundle after all. R.I.P. Ted Turner. Surprised it took CNN this long to get a weather app out.
