not actually YouTube, but still:

Bandeirantes, or simply "Band" launched its newscasts in HD in December 3rd, a day after commercial HDTV started here in Brazil (actually, here in metro São Paulo, but other regions are following). but only its main evening newscast actually got a new look:

http://www.stage6.com/user/HDTVBrasil/video/2047619/BAND-HD-::-Jornal-da-Band-::-DEMO-::-720p

(720p, requires DivX Web Player)

the video is 720p, but currently all networks broadcasting in HD do so in 1080i.

A montage of the current news opens from ThaiPBS in Thailand, using Arnold's Extreme. ThaiPBS signed on in February 2008, taking over the frequency of the former commercial broadcaster iTV following the 2006 coup.

New look Nuevos Tele13 from Chile. Is it just me, or does it sound like a ripoff of 615's Newstime?

From CNBC Europe. Edgy, flashy and well-executed. I happened to be watching the night (US central time) that these graphics debuted, and according to Squawk Box Europe host Geoff Cutmore, these were done - believe it or not - in house! If you look arount YouTube you will also see program opens created for their sister CNBC Sardinia network.

Some clips from China:

Huaian: HATV News current (?) open, sounds like This Is Your News.

Chongqing: CQTV News 2007 Open, seemingly a rip-off of the open to Pro7's "Newstime" (Germany).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CXSet9hupk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SK8MlVC0rLA (also includes the Pro7 open)

Sichuan TV News 2008 Open, ripped off from GlobalNational.

mmm, the Chongqing (I've been there :smash: ) 2-shot is decent. Rest is a little gawdy (!) but hey, it is a rip-off of Pro-7! (and Chongqing's set is real, a plus over ProSieben!). Sichuan's video wall.. well it's better than 7 Sydney's attempt!

Very nice cut, haven't seen or heard any stations here in the United States use that as a morning cut.

I've heard that cut as a closed-caption sponsor promo on WPRI.

More from Hong Kong Cable News:

2001 Open, with NS2000+ and the Novocom/Belo Northwest graphics:

I know this post is from September, but I don't check the Int'l News forum :)

This kinda sounds like that cut... I think it's different...

This sounds like it could be a morning cut too: http://www.southernmedia-nmsa.com/audioplayer_main.php?media=opens,2293,0

I think both those are from Series 1.
