Argentina's TV Pública premiered a new set and graphics for their newscasts yesterday.

It's an interesting innovation.

Portugal's SIC 8PM news open from April 22, 2000. Nuno Santos anchors the news from Coroa Vermelha Beach, 500 years after the discovery of Brazil by navigator Pedro Álvares Cabral.

Jorge Marchetti and a "young" Santo Biasatti were the anchors of Canal 11's evening news in 1984.

Announcer Rafael Monzón teases some of the stories they'll have later at 7PM.

Novocom designed these beautiful IDs and bumpers for Portugal's RTP, back in 1998.

They really made look this channel more European.

And here's what I promised on Saturday. Telefe premiered a new set for their newscasts today, and it's really amazing!

Here's an excerpt of tonight's 8PM news.

This ID from ATeCe (Canal 7, Buenos Aires) was used between February and July of 1996.

It was short-lived, rejected by the station executives and the audience. I think that they would have given a chance to it, because it was superb by the time.

The executives were forced to reinstate its legendary logo, and here's the way they used to promote it.

From Spain, the last newscast from Telemadrid before tomorrow's launch of a brand-new look:

I hope this relaunch will be great, despite their newscasts are a little bit tabloid.

Aside from the new look/set, Telemadrid is making big changes to its newscasts. They made some big hires in the last few months--they managed to poach Lourdes Maldonado from Antena 3.

On a side note, Informativos Telecinco also got new graphics

Wow. That desk is huge. Also, how weird do those lavalier mics look?

Overall, a very nice look all around.

The set and graphics are pretty good, but I don't think I'm alone in thinking of DR's TV Avisen when I hear that theme.

I know I've posted this a couple of months ago but new pieces of graphics from Canal 13 in Buenos Aires have been uploaded recently on YouTube:

These are commercials and promos seen overnight back in 2001, when the station was using some beautifully designed graphics mixing colored liquids and fire.

Canal 13 (Buenos Aires) in 1967, in what it looks it was the opener for their evening news:

Love the bongos and the look.

onethesea gets 5***** stars for this one.

Here are some interesting pieces from Canal 12 in Córdoba, Argentina.

This ID was used for many years and emulated the Nine Network's legendary city and space view ID.

It was designed in Brazil at Rede Globo's Rio de Janeiro headquarters.

And finally, an opener for their noon news from Wednesday, February 14, 2001.

I'm in love with Eddie Sierra's works. He's like our Frank Gari. Most of his early themes for TV (late '80s-2006) reminded me, in some way, of Gari's.

Here's the evening news open used by Canal 4 in Montevideo, Uruguay, used between 1998 and 2000.

It was a little bit innovative because of the music; back then, electronic tango wasn't very common.

The late Ramón Andino reads the forecast and wraps up an edition of Canal 13's 1PM news from Friday, March 29, 1984.

(the segment starts at 1:02; part of the audio was deleted intentionally by the user to avoid copyright claims)
