NBC 5 Chicago 196 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Looks like WMAQ will be the first to roll out a new O&O website coming here soon. http://www.nbc5.com/slideshow/news/17567505/detail.html http://www.lostremote.com/2008/10/07/nbc-oo-set-to-launch-new-site/ Looks interesting. Wonder when they will debute it. If it will be when they get the new graphics. Also it will be wierd for them to say nbcchicago.com instead of nbc5.com! Thoughts?
News24/7 3 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 As a certain somebody said a couple months ago on here, This is the new branding for the O&Os. I wouldnt be suprised if we see NBC Chicago News anytime soon
WCAUTVNBC10 413 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 As i and a certain somebody said a couple months ago on here' date=' This is the new branding for the O&Os. I wouldnt be suprised if we see NBC Chigaco News anytime soon[/quote'] They aren't changing any branding anytime soon so screw off with that.
Weeters 1969 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 As i and a certain somebody said a couple months ago on here' date=' This is the new branding for the O&Os. I wouldnt be suprised if we see NBC Chigaco News anytime soon[/quote'] That was Dylan Oakes who also said the new O&O graphics were coming one day when they didn't put up the time/temp bug.
ColumbusNewsFan 217 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 OK, I going out on a limb and say NBC might be creating a MyFox style network of website. No Branding change just new MyFox style sites.
Link 3 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 It will always be nbc5.com to me...I'd think you'd want website addresses as short as possible, so its ridiculous to change to nbcchicago.com from nbc5.com
lpzml09 0 Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 FoxChicago NBCChicago Im actually starting to like them
bostonmediaguy 124 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 The new site will launch this afternoon. http://www.tvnewsday.com/articles/2008/10/13/daily.6/
ColumbusNewsFan 217 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Just checked out the new site. I really liked it. It was very easy to navigate around the site. Very clean interface and less clutter than the Internet Broadcasters site. A step up from the the previous site.
alaskanews 122 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 "Locals Only"? Doesn't sound to inviting to me
Tyler 151 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Yeah. That's the only issue I have with the new sites. Other than that, it's a great improvement.
caliwxdude 254 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Hmm, nice job NBC in ripping off Cover Flow for your top story interface thing. More proof that Mac OS X is the superior operating system...
SterlingNorth 33 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Hmm, nice job NBC in ripping off Cover Flow for your top story interface thing. More proof that Mac OS X is the superior operating system... That, or the site designers all use Macs. I'd think that Macs would have very high penetration in the graphic design industries.
Link 3 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 It will always be nbc5.com to me, i'm not typing nbcchicago.com--too long...it was fine how it was.
Vlad 333 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 "Locals Only"? Doesn't sound to inviting to me Yeah they need to take that out, and I'm not really that excited about the whole idea that much neither, it again just like FOX O&Os, takes out the "uniqueness" (for lack of a better word) of every station and adds a mandate that everyone has to follow so the station's originality is not there anymore...
RGSJenkins 435 Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 And worse, where's the station's logo? The MyFOX site at least have the station's logo on them. CBS' and ABC's O&O sites are much better than NBC's and FOX's.
