Samantha 2902 Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 (edited) Those Phoenix clips are a nice stocking stuffer. Especially when there are stories with titles like "Grid Plan or Papago?". Also on YT today, a KPWB news promo (!): And a KCRA noon open from January 1 of that year — when northern California (and Nevada) were in the grip of major flooding: Edited December 24, 2019 by Samantha
Yankees4life 563 Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 (edited) Speaking of KCRA, heres their sister station KQCA's news promo https://youtu.be/qkRp0Nd7smE Edited December 25, 2019 by Yankees4life

10Viewer 338 Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 (edited) WCHS was pretty impressive in the '90s from the clips I've seen. Much better look than what came under Sinclair ownership. Edited April 11, 2020 by 8Viewer 3

Samantha 2902 Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 What's coming up on The Big News tonight? KELO was in a time warp for much of the 80s, not that it showed in the ratings: KELO continued to use "The Big News" theme and name until 1990 (!): 3
AJClementeFan69 477 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 (edited) Crappy recording of a WISC weekend newscast in 1998 with the Star Trak theme. Would be nice if this person would digitize it (or send the tape to someone who can). Talent open at about 6:28. Edited January 2, 2020 by AJClementeFan69 1
Weeters 1969 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 A treasure trove of 1998 WITI, all revolving around the retirement of John Drilling. Some observations: The "Newscenter" set is brand new here (weeks old), and the newsroom and weather office have yet to be renovated to match. There are also still human camera operators in the studio. Also a few clips of Molly Fay, now over at WTMJ doing the Morning Blend, and Scott Steele who is now suing WTMJ/Scripps. A few of these packages were crammed right at the end of the show, so there's a few seconds of the classic Magnum close music sprinkled throughout. 3
qunewsguy 378 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Airchecks probably don't get much older than this! 2

Info Junkie 1286 Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 June 21 was a day unlike any other in the ATL:
Samantha 2902 Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 We've already seen KXTV's coverage of Loma Prieta as it started to unfold—now we have a full, 45-minute (!) 11pm show from that night, and it's a treat with its own special open. Not the only long KXTV aircheck we got in the last week: five and a half minutes of coverage of the Sun Valley Mall plane crash in Concord from 1985. At the time, the station was still using the Tuesday "Spirit of California" theme: 2
