  1. Past hour
  2. excellent point. It’s the right thing to do and good on Disney/ABC for being loyal to someone who has been loyal to them.
  3. Today
  4. N4NY ended coverage around 1:35 and went to dateline, conveniently blowing off the last bit of anyone recording the channel at least on YouTube tv by saying Dateline started at 1
  5. They muted a couple times during Brunson's speech, presumably to try and mute him swearing...they missed...twice... Also a live F-bomb got on the air during an early spectator interview
  6. most on air talent probably at or preparing to go to the parade. Im surprised Rosanna, the star of the show was kept in the building instead of at the parade.
  7. Getting commercials in before the ceremony starts. Brian Stelter's Reliable Sources newsletter provided insight into technical issues (picture and hand offs) are due to overused cell networks: " "So many people have converged downtown that it’s actually presenting some technical challenges for the TV crews, especially those that are sending in live signals via cellular, using the same jam-packed networks as all the fans. If a live shot suddenly seems blurry to you, that might be why! Everyone is competing for precious cell phone tower bandwidth."
  8. Channel 4 was commercial-free for about 2 hours but now is having breaks every 5 minutes or so it seems like Edit: they also seem to be having trouble getting to Dave Price whenever they go to him, think he mightve mentioned that before.
  9. With one poster calling out WABC and saying that Bill should've retired into the sunset, and I bet haven't considered: the cost of health insurance. Yes, Bill could be on Medicare, but what you pay on Medicare is dependent on what you earn. I wouldn't be surprised that Disney/ABC accommodated Bill with this special correspondent position so he can continue with Disney's health insurance and Medicare/Medicare Advantage if he has one. Let's not forget that we aren't a country with universal health insurance for everyone and as Bill pointed out, treatment for Alzheimer/Dementia is very, very expensive.
  10. Meant to say first FEMALE solo 6pm anchor! Sorry! Edited my original post.
  11. I found it curious that Good Day Wake Up and Good Day NY had solo broadcasts today.
  12. WMTV in Madison has finally adopted the new package.
  13. 9 usually uses 5's logo, even when they have all of the newscasts in a day! I wish they'd do this more often
  14. My 9 is relevant today! It's being used for Knicks coverage. I like that they actually used WWOR's logo, as many duopolies these days just use the main stations logo when it's on the junior station.
  15. Peacock/NBCSN Extra (one of them, at least) simulcasting channel 4s coverage, obviously sans commercials. May also be off-air as we had a bit of no-audio coming out of the last comm break before sounds were cued up
  16. ESPN2 is simulcasting ABC7’s coverage.
  17. I love the way the CBS stations do customizations, we need more of this at channel 2
  18. Loving the basketball CBS logo for Knicks Parade coverage! If the logo were bigger it would've been cool to have the actual CBS logo with the iris as the basketball.
  19. Parade coverage seems to be either using a still shot or a live feed of the empty N4NY studio for some graphics. We also had the station referenced as "WNBC" a few minutes ago going into said shot of the studio, wondering if it was supposed to be a verbal ID (since they didn't flash up the usual WNBC NEW YORK chryon) but it was just "WNBC"
  20. Channel 5 having issues with live reports and bitrate. Other stations having similar problems but they're very noticeable on 5
  21. I have it recording on YouTube tv, I'll see if I can find a way to get a clean shot even if it's off my phone
  22. Didn't Beutel solo the 6?
  23. What happened with the weather graphics at the beginning of the parade broadcast? Looked different and also had the old KABC ABC7 logo. Too quick to get a screen grab.
  24. Ever since Joyce Garbaciak stepped down from anchoring in May 2024 at WISN 12, she became their contributor/special projects correspondent. However, tomorrow, for the first time in two years, she'll be back tomorrow on the anchor desk to fill in while Blake Eason and Diana Gutiérrez cover Summerfest for WISN with field anchoring. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1562383145927964&id=100064688800689
  25. In the meantime, Liz Cho is currently the first solo 6pm female anchor in the station’s history.
  26. I'm looking at it this way: This is still "unchartered territory", regardless if it's Nexstar or Gray or whoever... Is this the wave of the future? Maybe. With everything going to a subscription based services platform, this may be a winner. We need to let them find their footing, adjust to viewer feedback, and go accordingly. I do agree, this will not be a win in every market. For the duopolies, this would make more sense. Why have 2 huge sets, 2 sets of anchors/reporters, etc... I'm still very leery of this kind of product, but I'm taking notes and keeping an open mind on the whole thing.
