Sunbeam Properties, so yes. Now they have a website devoted to it as well: https://www.sunbeamnbv.com/home EDIT: They've even included a PDF with detailed plans as to what they'll construct in NBV to replace the WSVN complex: https://assets.courbanize.com/sunbeam-north-bay-village/info-plans/5c4f61e19ee3eaf708ee5cb07d1630b9.pdf

I'm sure The Ansin Family owns the property right? They're into real estate so it makes since.

As I said months ago....it's very iffy for Maurice to relinquish his WCBS seat for the unstable CBS Evening News. We initially thought Maurice would stay on at 11 PM, but when they changed him not on CBS 2 at all it was understandable based on the assumption he'd be busy with national duties. But John Dickerson anchors Evening News +, most special coverage, and is typically to one of the pair to anchor special reports. All Maurice really does is the 30 minute evening news and I'm not sure if he takes an editorial role in the broadcast. Maurice & CBS probably have their reasons but perhaps he could have maintained his dual national and local roles. I'm guessing her bio isn't updated because as I recall Cindy Hsu took over 12pm after her 9am newscast was cancelled.
-
Are you talking about Mary Calvi? If so, according to her bio, co-anchoring at Noon is part of her responsibilities.
-
Today he is "in for Lonnie". Also strange, but Jessica and Dick once again made no mention of being in for Kristine. I also noticed Mary joined Cindy on the noon today, but breaking news can't be the excuse there...

KCRA at one point had a studio at Arden Fair Mall, The KCRA 3 Experience, where they produced their noon newscast. -
Let's shift stuff for the upcoming 2025-26 season to the new thread, and start winding this one down, only for stuff relevant to the now-completed season.

As we enter July, it’s time to sunset the 2024-25 thread and move to the 2025-26 thread. There is a new game show, Scrambled Up, with host Michael Yo coming this fall.
-
Had anyone heard about this until now? It's from the same syndicators as Cutler's Court: https://deadline.com/2025/07/scrambled-up-game-show-michael-yo-host-fall-syndication-launch-1236446906/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

Yeah I’ve seen his resume.

The idea is interesting. Maybe it works maybe not. Trying new things with partners who handle their areas of expertise is fine. Live and learn. Years ago, like all the way back in the last century, WPVI Philly ran a store at the King of Prussia mall. Had a small space for reporters to do live reports though I can’t say I remember that part being used much. No coffee, but it had an assortment of station and ABC-show branded merchandise. Travel mugs, hats, pens, shirts…all that kind of stuff. Lasted a few years and quietly closed down. But it got them some branding in a high-traffic location for a while. It’s easy to find all the potential negatives and things to pick apart, but in a rapidly changing landscape, taking a calculated swing now and then can be worth the shot.

Happy 84th birthday to the country's oldest-running commercial television station... who just happened to be on the air an hour before WCBW (now WCBS) did.

All they can do is think with the sale department. -
I wonder if this means that Haley Meier is permanently picking up Kendall's old shift, or maybe something entirely different.
-
A little birdie told me uncle Warren said no to a sale - if he sold it would have tax implications given how he acquired wplg. I still think Fox will buy 10, and that the ABC deal was a hedge by wsvn management since Their fox affiliation expires 2026 so...

That one is replacing the building across from the studios. Plex will get demolished closer to ~2030 They were supposed to have broken ground by now, this story says 2027. Wsvn new building in Miramar is scheduled to start construction end of 2025 or early 2026 to coincide with their 70th year but not necessarily with a July debut

“We want to be a local news brand that builds community,” said Ellis. “By creating a space like this where everyone is welcome, we will be more local than ever before, and we believe that means something special.” Audibly laughted at 2:04am in the dark. They've no clue what to do to get eyeballs

Just going to flag that this shouldn't be a list. Airport newsstands and what WDIV is doing are very different ventures. -

I'm guessing since a majority of the airport stores are NBC affiliates they're connected to CNBC deal with Paradies Lagardère. WRAL confirms that's who operates the store using their brand. https://capitolbroadcasting.com/2018/06/13/wral-opens-new-travel-store-at-rdu/
