  2. Very curious as to what the NBC stations will do across the country. Many of which will have lots of openings in their schedule with no Kelly, Access Daily, Access Hollywood.
  3. Good point. Julie Millet has been doing weekend weather occasionally. Although I thought they have a guy who also does it.
  4. Amy Hockert is leaving KMSP after 11 years at the station. In the last shuffle, she went to doing the podcast-style "FOX9 All Day" for a couple hours while the 5:00 show was her only traditional newscast. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BJryYYQ4r/
  5. Antenna TV is now on WOOD TV's DT2 Rewind TV nowhere to be found guessing they may return once one of the contracts run out.
  6. I think that ESPN should've kept GMFB OT for syndication in my opinion than just on cable. GMFB OT is on late night on FOX17. Looks like Police 24/7 is going to be on weekends this fall since that only has 60 EPs in total not enough for daily M-F.
  7. ESPN is ending the syndicated GMFB: Overtime.
  8. Wondered why I hadn't seen Kim Brunhuber on air in a while, turns out he left the network on May 31st. Shame, CNN have had some strong talent in the weekend overnight hours (Natalie Allen, George Howell, Kim), but it must be tough watching newer talent chosen for the weekday spots when vacancies open up. I'm not quite sure what CNN's strategy is here. All of the Atlanta based departures seem to result in someone broadcasting from a new city. Michael Holmes was replaced with NY based Polo Sandoval (who has since moved to weekdays and eclipsed half of Rosemary's slot). John Vause was replaced with LA based Elex Michaelson. Kim Brunhuber appears to have been replaced with London based Salma Abdelaziz. Makes you wonder why Ben Hunte moved to Atlanta when he was hired on instead of staying in London. Also disappointing that Salma appears to be broadcasting from the broom cupboard. If CNN aren't going to have Polo and Salma in an actual studio, they could at least set up shop in the newsroom...which would work really well given the program title!
  9. Sometimes people leave and do comeback while rare at WABC it does happen, so maybe in the future, Derrick can find his way back if he wants. Despite it all, often times we expect news personalities to stay or move from one station to another because of the station itself's. But we often forget how difficult and challenging it is to work in this industry. So, I think a each person's journey is their own. Whether they stay on or leave for other opportunities, at the end of the day it is the quality of that and what they achieve along the way is where the merit is. Exciting to see the new changes coming to WABC. They've been quite agile lately with all of the shuffling of the talent. It feels like a complete refresh of the weekend lineup which has been pretty much untouched up until the last year or so with Tanya Rivero coming on board in 2024. Also this is kinda the shaping of a new chapter for WABC, with the bittersweet departure of Bill Ritter, we are seeing a unique set of new opportunities coming to light with that.
  10. When someone in another thread said Derrick Waller was foolish for leaving WABC, and he should have waited for a better slot, I pointed this put to them. The wait often never ends. Jeff Smith has been on weekends for 20+ years. So has Joe Torres. WABC must be a great workplace because people stick around! That's great, but it's also bad if you want to move up.
  11. Another new syndicated TV season is getting closer, which means it's time to start discussing the new shows, schedule changes, etc., for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
  12. This - when the move happens.

  14. In an Instagram post, he said he was leaving WAVE and moving to WABC. https://www.instagram.com/p/DZ-4mkplLRo/?img_index=1
  15. If Johnson and Shlonsky come to Channel 7, I could see a lineup like the following happening in the near future. WEEKDAYS 4:30 to 7am: Shirleen/Pedro, and Brittany Bell with weather - no changes Mornings @ 10: Joe/Sandra, and Dani Beckstrom or Sam Champion as third wheel/meteorologist (Allicot and Rivera are already established anchors in the 10am hour, which tends to be looser but Torres and Bookman should get more than just one slot to me and then they can still be the primary evening fill ins) Noon: Joe/Sandra, and Jeff Smith with weather 4 & 6pm: Liz/David, Jeff Smith with weather at 4, Lee Goldberg with weather at 6 5 & 11pm: Sade/Mike, and Lee Goldberg with weather - no changes WEEKENDS Mornings: Michelle/Perry, and Dani Beckstrom with weather - no changes Evenings: Tanya/Brian, and Liv Johnson with weather

  17. While Jeff deserves a weekday spot and is long overdue for one I almost can see them giving Dani the weekday spot if it’s coming up. She already does the 10 most days so add the noon and 4 or 6 and you’re set.
  18. Fully support this. 12p Joe & Sandra 4 & 6p David & Liz 5 & 11p Sade & Mike Exactly what is Sam Champion's remaining role at Eyewitness News. How frequently does he appear on "EWN This Morning" anymore? Is he still regularly seen on "Mornings @ 10".
  19. Interesting. I could see them moving Jeff to Noon and 4pm to help lighten Lee’s evening slate, especially with his expanded network duties. Brittany gets to cover mornings rather than hanging around until 1pm. And I’d really love to see Joe and Sandra back together.
  20. They're launching 3:00pm news in the process, starting in September. But this brings an end to an amazing 35-year run of Saturday morning news on WKRC-TV and 12 years on Sunday mornings.
  21. Isn't PIX11 still understaffed on weather?
  22. I wonder where. Maybe Fox Weather? But that would probably have been more of a seamless move. Which local station has an opening for a new meteorologist?
  23. Rumor is that Brian Shlonsky, now former main anchor at Louisville station WAVE TV, is coming to WABC. Could he be Joe’s successor on weekend evenings if Joe gets moved to weekdays at Noon? Also saw that Liv Johnson is leaving WNYW, but staying in New York. Could we see her on weekend evenings at WABC, with Jeff Smith being bumped up to 12 noon weekdays (and possibly either 4pm or 5pm) as well?
  24. If Sinclair is cutting at one of its most successful stations, that’s not a good sign of things to come for all the 3rd- and 4th-place stations it runs.

  27. Can I just point out the irony that this image of the WPIX studio is at the bottom of the Nexstar-Tegna.com website? It should not be lost on anyone that Mission is still due to sell PIX 11 because Nexstar is running an out-of-state SSA though Mission Broadcasting and they still owe over $1.8 million to the FCC for de facto violation of the 39% ownership cap. However, that action is conveniently delayed under Brenden Carr. Perry is, at this point, flaunting that he's violating the public trust and the law. I'm forwarding this to my AG. Great litigation evidence, really. https://www.nexstar-tegna.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/local-news-image-2.jpg
