  1. Past hour
  2. In some alternative multiverse, it was their TV stations.
  3. This is... intriguing: https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2025/7/7/nexstars-latest-nd-hire
  4. Today
  5. yeesh. Seems like a fantasy or offshore TV station come to life in Miami. Hopefully "ABC Miami" will be their main brand, but they have to educate the OTA & cable/satellite viewers on channel position. "ABC Miami" is enough for OTT. I would imagine WPLG would continue on YouTubeTV. WJXT has always been carried as an independent so carrying WPLG post-switch should be a given. ABC would pull the strings for getting "ABC Miami" on there.
  6. Was looking through the team page again, no changes since Yu's sudden removal (and she still has ABC7NY on her Instagram?), however I realized that they've never added Lindsay Tuchman for some unknown reason.
  7. And there was a time when Gannett was a trusted name in local newspapers.
  8. As a number of them were part of and still employed after the first Dr. Phil HR scandal and followed him to the Metroplex away from the security of LA and CBS, some of them knew why they were signing up for.
  9. WPLG has picked up rights to women’s soccer club Fort Lauderdale United FC.
  10. A relief when Gannett or Alden could've done much worse.
  11. The last of Belo has been sold to Hearst. The Dallas Morning News will join other major Texas newspapers in the Hearst empire. Shareholders of the DallasNews Corp will receive $14/share and the paper will be taken private.
  12. If there was one thing worse than TBN itself, it was this deal. Second place goes to CTN putting Newsmax as a subchannel on their stations. Sure, it looks like a nice public service move, but we all know their motives. Separation of church and state be damned.
  13. I’m sure TEGNA will welcome them all back…
  14. Good riddance to garbage TV and a waste of space IMO. I feel for those who'll lose their jobs tho
  15. 6 months of WCBS not having to pay someone a 6-figure salary
  16. arrested on unrelated charges: https://www.news9.com/story/686c1415dfc52927077f9d5c/vandal-disables-power-to-lifesaving-news-9-weather-radar Guy's got good head of hair and his willy survived getting caught on the wire also, he's part from some anti-government militia that claimed him https://www.news9.com/story/686f05493c7e238539083cd0/anti-government-miltia-group-claims-responsibility-for-vandalism-to-news-9-radar. Someone should tell them the UAE does weather mods over Dubai using airplanes and not weather radars
  17. Welp, I didn't see that coming. I guess Scripps didn't want to pay for a station that small. I would hope it's the first time ever, at least on the TV side.
  18. Yesterday
  19. Congratulations to Jessica. It seemed like she was the favored internal candidate as she was doing it three nights during the week while she was still doing weekends. I'm still surprised that it took them half a year to make it official, and it makes me wonder how seriously they might have been looking at external options. Not a fan of the solo anchor thing, especially at 11pm.
  20. Apologies if this isn't the right place but I also didn't want to create an entire new thread but, if there is one thing that's bothered me with the new look for the Evening News, it's the intro, it so simple, so, here's an intro concept!
  21. A video is up now on the subpage showing that WSVN is going full in on the 18 position, including a 'circle 18' logo (and a 7.2 logo) that reminds me of ABC's advertising 'bullets' in the TV Guide days.
  22. Oh, jeez, I forgot they added 6:30pm. I'm never up or watching then. Extra was previously in that slot.
  23. She's been there for nine years now?! Danggggg. I feel like its only been yesterday since she left KSNV Las Vegas.
  24. Actually... 12 hours: 4-10am, 12-1pm, 4-7pm, 9-11pm.
  25. I would assume that the area will become part of the Billings market. I agree, it's like a local co-op or the City of Glendive will set up translators.
  26. If my addition is right, I think this gives KDFW a weekday news amount of 11½ hours (not counting The Ten, their recent 10am addition helmed by some of their newsfolks, but definitely not a newscast; and not counting their overnight news repeat).
  27. Since most translators are owned by local entities in remote locations like Glendive, I would imagine either Dawson County or the city of Glendive would apply to set up a local translator to relay the stations from Billings. This is the first time in recent memory that a station going away like KXGN wipes out an entire DMA. But given the diminished state of broadcasting as a whole, KXGN may be the only station left even as a member of Montana PBS. Being a future non-comm certainly derails the possibility of even attempting to relay any commercial television station from Billings without a new licensee shacking up on KXGN and/or KYUS's spectrum.
  28. No more media market #210 I guess
