  1. Past hour
  2. @bennettmonk Since you seem to only react to posts with emojis instead of ever actually saying something, I'll post a screenshot of the thumbnail. That way we can clear up your apparent confusion ().
  3. I’m not going to speculate too much because KABC clearly knows what they are doing but if I was making the post-Ellen Leyva lineup decisions, it would look like this: Mornings: Talent stays the same (John Gregory, Leslie Sykes, Rachel Brown) 11am & 3pm: Phillip Palmer and Colleen Sullivan 4pm & 6pm: David Ono and Michelle Fisher 5pm & 11pm: Marc Brown and Jovana Lara Weekend Mornings: Talent stays the same (Tony Cabrera & Irene Cruz) Weekend Evenings: Jory Rand and Sophie Flay
  4. KARE 11 has been doing Sunrise six days a week for what feels like forever, yet has always been absent on Sunday mornings. Starting this weekend, they'll finally join that frame... 7-8am Sunday mornings. https://www.kare11.com/article/about-us/kare-11-sunday/89-76482c63-54e4-4946-bfe8-d2ded3ec2f58
  5. Not surprised. I had an inkling this happened. Mostly because I was thinking recently of...
  6. Yesterday
  7. With the folks behind the standard doing all they can to sabotage ATSC 3.0 as a DRM'ed mess with weakened coverage areas to distribute FAST channels and websites nobody needs, this is just another nail in the coffin for it. Sunbeam is right to just give up on it and end the farce and focus on just channel 7 alone and figure out something else for their 3.0 plans; ABC and Fox don't even take advantage of 3.0 90% of the time.
  8. When is WSVN going to adjust back to NTSC?
  9. Less than three months until the change, and WSVN/Sunbeam is asking the FCC to return to only broadcasting in ATSC 1.0 and ending its channel sharing agreement with WPLG. Currently, the WSVN spectrum has WSVN and WPLG's ATSC 1.0 channels, while the WPLG spectrum has WSVN and WPLG ATSC 3.0 channels. No similar filings from WPLG/Berkshire Hathaway to request a return to ATSC 1.0 transmission that I could find. Likely just a matter of when that is filed.
  10. Evidently it is the name of a power company in Maine that is disliked by customers. Didn't they do a trademark and use search?
  11. Spinco now has an offical name. Say hello to... Versant.
  12. I thought he allowed Mathis, Milian and Lake to have real cases?
  13. Some shows, yeah, I recall she often does WX hits during the 8am hour.
  14. Anthony and Kaitlin are a ‘interesting’ choice to pair together. Nevertheless, I don’t think WGN (or anyone else) has to worry about ‘ChicagoNOW’. They should have brought back their ‘Good Day After the Show’ Facebook Live program. It was a lot more entertaining.
  15. WCTV from 1991 includes one Tammy Watford in which this was her last spot before currently enjoying her 32-year (and counting) run at WLOS.
  16. Another major loss on the Gulf Coast of another TV legend. Longtime WALA-TV weatherman John Edd Thompson has passed away at the age of 82. He had worked at WALA for over three decades before retiring in 2009. https://www.fox10tv.com/2025/05/06/longtime-fox10-chief-meteorologist-john-edd-thompson-has-died/
  17. Although by the looks of the order, I’m wondering if Jovanna is moving to 4pm/6pm with David, and Michelle is moving to 5pm/11pm with Marc.
  18. Yesterday was apparently the debut of the streaming hour. The full launch show is here.
  19. It wouldn't surprise me if the same cases are on different shows, with the same actors, or maybe that's how they make them different. I wonder if these are outright sales of the facilities to other parties, or simply selling the building to a new owner through a sale/leaseback deal... Either way, it's going to bite them somehow in the future. When the rent goes up, then that's a big problem.
  20. Yeah, I've been working on uploading the new opens over the last few days. (Playlist that I'll keep updating...) Meanwhile, it looks like they're trying to go toe-to-toe with WGN's morning after-show. Streaming at 10 (as I type this) is Chicago Now with Anthony & Kaitlin.
  21. I saw this in an FB group today...
  22. The thumbnail for the on demand 11am newscasts confirm that change.
  23. Looks on par with the updates across the O&O's as they still work on phasing out the searchlights in the logos (KMSP recently redid their opens as well). Overall the stills with the FOX outline behind the logo give me "2010's WBBM 15 years later" vibes.
  24. On that note from the thumbnails in the video archives I see that Colleen Sullivan is now regularly anchoring 11am instead of Jovana Lara.
  25. Yes & No. From what I’ve seen, all four anchors appear at the very top (at 9A) and then everyone (including Mike and Kaitlin) will do a segment solo or they’ll do a segment (or two) as a group. Kaitlin does the weather at 8A, 9A and Noon, but Mike often appears throughout GDC doing non-weather related stuff. Been that way for a while.. Over the past several weeks; they have also updated the openings for each newscast (don’t think they have updated the Noon just yet).
  26. Mike Nicco was laid off from KSHB a couple of months ago. His next stop? Just down the street to KCTV. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1074039177869761&id=100057910666238
  27. So, you're saying that it's still Brian and Natalie at 9? Side note, does Kaitlin come on earlier than 9am, these days?
