  3. yeah, pretty disingenuous to say they are using green screen today, but act like they don't normally do so. Usually for By Design shows, they are on location somewhere.
  4. I thought Sunday Morning was going to address why they've been on green screen long term. Jane just said they're on green screen for today's "By Design" episode so they can change between backgrounds done by a featured design firm. SB: Sunday Morning uploads stories to their YouTube 5 to 10 minutes after they've aired. This really gives people no incentive to watch the show live on TV. SNL is the same way.
  5. There’s a reason why this name exists, people. It’s not for cosmetic purposes.
  6. One KBO broadcaster seems to like YES's MLB scoreboard (this is basically a boxy flat version of it)
  7. Not to mention Maurice DuBois Hosting CBS Evening News.
  8. If Ernie and Chuck aren't both joining then they should just move on with a new studio show. Ernie has already said he isn’t moving. Nothing in sports comes close to how great Inside the NBA is.
  9. Probably not shutting down - they've been adding new shows to the cable feed - but rather leaving OTA for cable (and streaming?) only. This TV, on the other hand, is likely doomed. They've been losing even more affiliates since the (then-)Tribune stations dropped it for Court TV, and the loss of carriage on ABC's O&Os to Charge may be the final straw.
  10. Apparently, TheGrio's affiliate base has been dropping like flies, and according to someone over on RadioDiscussions, it might be shutting down altogether (is there any official confirmation of this?).
  11. Longtime CNN political commentator Alice Stewart was found dead this morning. She had just appeared on CNN yesterday. She was always smart and respectful. Colleagues in politics and media are sharing reflections all over Twitter. Rest in peace. https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/18/politics/alice-stewart-cnn-commentator-dies/index.html
  12. Yesterday
  13. Since Comcast is a cable company, why wouldn't they want to put some NBA games on USA network along with the show Inside the NBA, if they do get part of the deal?
  14. She could help them tremendously, I thought she was ND when was she promoted to GM?
  15. Yeah true, we was doing the same at WNBC part-timing with the network also, I recognize there very few slot to gt into network. Getting to network news today is like getting into an Ivy League college. But I hear he makes a lot of money in his current role.
  16. From FTVLive: Current WBBM GM Jennifer Lyons will be the interim President & GM at WWJ Surprise! New Boss Named at CBS Detroit — FTVLive
  17. Where exactly would he go at the network? It’s not like they have an obvious open vacancy and he’s likely just fine in his current role.

  19. Someone created a convenient map showing which stations are on GrayONE and which ones are still waiting in the wings. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1LmIglmqEZChaFD9SKBPu1eZBN-_hVxE&ll=38.763369813494634%2C-99.3197914626852&z=5
  20. He's a network talent I don't know why they won't give him a network job. He be good at it he appears on CBS Sunday Morning almost several time a month, he's a frequent fill-in on the Evening News. I don't know why they won't give him an opportunity.
  21. Well see, I think well overtake them. This is from 2011 we had beaten them so It can be done again https://www.sportstvjobs.com/local-tv-market-sizes-dma-2/
  22. Last week
  23. No it has not ever. They are next to one another in ranks now, but Charlotte is still a faster growing region.
  24. Good to see Maurice hosting tonight!
  25. WTAE is pretty much the only station putting in any effort. KDKA or “CBS NEWS PITTSBURGH” is coasting on its heritage and the effects of Apollo are evident in the product WPXI is putting out.
  26. And within the last year and a half or so, KDKA and WPXI stopped using Chopper 2/Chopper 11, which has left Sky 4 from WTAE as Pittsburgh’s only news helicopter.
  27. WRAL is currently flying N6TY, which was formerly assigned to KMOV. WRAL's own N553HD which has always been registered to Capitol Broadcasting is now registered to Helicopters, Inc. and hasn't flown since February. Word is that it is undergoing rehabbing. But either way, it does look like WRAL has sold their chopper and outsourced the service.
