  1. Atlanta's Plugged in can work once they get a permanent host, Jennifer Valdez is supposedly to main host but is always out either sick or something else since having 3 kids now... make Kimberly Kennedy the full time host and move this show for an hour at 9 A.M. Put Y&R at 12:30 instead of 3 p.m. and Take one of the Stronger Shows from there Sister Station WPCH 17 (Peachtree TV) and put it at 3 p.m., Problem Solved. Maybe Hot Bench or Crime Watch Daily or even Divorce Court

  3. Your second paragraph says it all. You're not first if you're quoting someone else!!! And I believe there has been an instance where you reported something after another one of those websites reported it, but still classified it as "first".

  7. In that case, shouldn't Hearst own up to 50% of Me-TV? In part because of the Falcons' games on Fox 5 ATL (WAGA). Speaking of TEGNitis, WFAA is now struggling to keep their position as market leader according to the recent sweeps results, which were posted on the Feb 2016 sweeps post. There's no way that WXIA would drop the 11Alive branding again because just like in 93/94, viewers would still be pissed about the change in the longtime branding. However, a new logo for 11Alive is more likely. In large part because The Simpsons was a very popular show and was still in its heyday when WAGA and WJW rebounded.

  10. I think the big story is that Larry Perret is actually taking that dog station (CBS46) to better places as it seems to appear. Perret might consider buying in Atl instead of renting.

  11. ok so leave Y&R at 3 but still put ATL Plugged IN at 9 a.m. for an hour and move my 3 p.m. suggestion to 12:30 - 1:30 p.m then Also CBS 46 Getting Wheel/Jeopardy isn't as far fetched as some think, 11Alive doesn't have the pockets it used to and CBS46 and Mererdith has been doing good in the money department lately. and even thought their ratings are in the tank, 11Alive is to WXIA is ATL as Action News is to WSB or WPVI, Eyewitness News is to WABC or KABC. it's not going away anytime soon

  12. I really don't see Shirleen getting the 11pm yet. Maybe in a few years but not yet. And I also don't see Diana retiring soon, I think she has another 7-10 years before she decides to leave. ---- Fun thought, what if WABC is planning to add another newscast, maybe at 7pm. Noon: David & Shirleen 4: Liz & David 5: Diana & Shirleen 6: Bill & Liz 7: Rob & Sade 11: Bill & Sade While completely hypothetical, this would give Shirleen an expanded role, it would give Rob an anchoring position that could set him up to eventually replace Bill and it would give the 7pm newscast a big name anchor like they did at 4pm with Liz. And in this scenario, Lori and Shirleen could be swapped depending on what Lori's contract says, etc... Just a fun thought but one that could actually work. And I get pretty irritated when people think adding curse words adds to their argument. Sorry but completely unnecessary. If they were going to just completely dump Sade from the 5 & 11 (doubtful), I think Lori is the only current WABC anchor that would be able to make such a transition successful. Shirleen is way too new at WABC to already take on the 11pm based on what we've seen WABC do in the past. If this was WNBC, WCBS or any other station it would be possible but a big reason WABC has been #1 is because they have anchors that people know and trust and they don't make anchor changes often and I don't see that changing now.

  13. Maybe it was shortsighted, but I wonder if Shirleen was hired due to the recent "issues" with the weekday female bench and the possibility that someone could've abruptly left. In the last 6-9 months Diana was out tending to both her husband and son, and I'd imagine her full return was in doubt...I know it was here. Lori also spent noticeable time away when her father was ill, and while her long-time employment was never really questioned, her and Ken wanting to move off the noon show added to the instability. Finally, lest we forget, there was the question (if only for a brief time) if Liz could be leaving to follow Josh as he looked for a new job. Now the station is loaded with 8 weekday anchors. While that seems like a lot, and someone could eventually be cut, it still only puts them in-line with sisters WLS, WPVI, and KTRK, and they're still smaller than those 3 when counting Monday through Friday weather and sports staff. Heck, within New York, 7 weekday anchors is about average at the lesser operations, so 8 isn't crazy at the #1 outlet. Just a thought.

  14. Because of a power outage, and the backup generator not working, WMC did their 10pm by phone last night. They also did their morning news by phone because of audio issues. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/see-how-this-memphis-station-handled-a-power-outage-right-before-its-newscast/165621
