  1. What's even the point. Idiots.

  2. Because playing fantasy television owner makes people "propose" the most ridiculous things you can imagine.

  3. I was watching Good Day this morning. Sheinelle Jones was the suprise guest today. She wasn't in the Good Day studio. She taped it from the Today Show set. Comparing her to Alex Holley, I like Alex better!

  4. For a station that had lost almost everything in a fire and rebuilt *and* was with a number-one network by this point, WAFF was really stuck in a time warp. The opens looked more like 1983 than anything else. They were about to correct that. The "The News" look that launched either late in 86 or in 87 — which also brought with it a much-needed new set — truly was an improvement. ——— This, though, is not stuck in a time warp:

  5. Gelman did not know for Months. He found out on Tuesday Morning after the show with Kelly

  6. D'oh my mistake! The "Proud N" logo WAS the one with the peacock. I was referring to the peacock-less N in the beginning of the video with the uneven 48 logo that way outdated by 1986. Heck, WAFF itself looked a bit 70s-ish in 1986.

  7. The trapezoid with peacock was still in use through 1986 at the network level, but the "uneven 48" did date to the 70s. It was on its way out and replaced the next year when WAFF's newscasts became known as "The News" ( ).

  8. Could Michael joining GMA full time not just be a precursor of an expanded GMA but a Good Afternoon America, with Lara and Michael? I agree with those that have said that ABC had the power to "move" Michael from Live to GMA. The money from advertisers is in the mornings, hence the expansion of Today to four hours (from coffee at 7 AM to wine at 10... AM). If GMA does decide to expand to three hours, I can easily see Lara and Michael being the main anchors of the 9 AM hour. They can very much rival and surpass Today's Take. However, if this is the case, this DOES weaken ABC's daytime lineup, as the network only fixed an hour of their lineup. Live is definitely unstable now with finding a new co-host for Kelly. The View's struggles are well-documented. ABC O&Os having to expand newscasts to an hour at noon, and news at 4. Then there's The Chew and FABLife, which I'm not sure how they are doing, but I can't imagine that they are that dominant.

  10. Thankfully you're not in charge. I think many more sympathize with Kelly than those who are labeling her as rich and stubborn. So firing her would be an even bigger PR nightmare than they already have in their hands. Plain and simple, not only was this a bad decision, but to top it off, it was poorly handled. Give it a week for heads to cool off and I'm sure things will be a bit better.

  11. Why would NBC want to do that a second time, let alone with those particular stations?

  12. Makes sense, that does seem to be the standard cookie-cutter set that Nexstar uses for their stations in small markets. I will give them credit though for building an actual news department at WZDX similar to what they did with WFXR (actually they're pretty much carbon copies of each other). But I will say that RocketCityNow is a pretty cheesy name for a website, even by Nexstar standards.
