  4. Pete Sack is also a substitute teacher in a southeastern Wisconsin school district. Apparently he never moved out of the area after leaving WDJT. I guess he likes what he has going since there's been plenty of chances to move up in Chicago or get back into Milwaukee.

  5. I suggested the move to 11am back when KNBC moved back to 11am, as that now leaves WNBC as the only NBC O&O with their midday news at noon. When I suggested, others said that it'd be a stupid move to go up against The Price Is Right and The View. I thought it would be smart because they would be the only news on at that time. As for permanent anchors, it seems that Rob is permanent Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday (he also anchors weekend evenings), and David is permanent Thursday-Friday. I could see them adding Kerry Barrett on all five days, or having her do three days (in addition to her morning duties, and possibly weekend evenings) with someone else (Natalie or Darlene perhaps) picking up the other two days.

  6. FOX is serious about keeping cost down for programming on the local level. Look, They got those 2, and the crew already on the clock...and you get hundreds of emails from people pitching ideas, cooking, fashion and mommy stuff segments. This shit is cheap to produce AND some crack smoking sales weasels have learned that you can SELL entire segments to plastic surgeons and yoga yogi's. Stations are finding that 9-11a time slot is becoming more profitable....and with reduced labor cost...it's cheaper to produce in-house again. Just like the early days of TV... In house production.

  7. Okay Follow-up. I'm not too sure when they changed it but their twitter feed is now updated. The logos matches the ones from the website. To me, the one that was posted before (specifically the Fox one, which was a carbon-copy of KDVR) looked extremely cheap. But I'm tired of seeing yet ANOTHER Nexstar Fox station with the same vertical-stacking logo. And it really doesn't look right with a singular-number station. I just hope they don't splew this shit into the MG stations.

  11. Just found this video from WTNH in New Haven, CT. It's Ann Nyberg talking with Al Primo, pioneer of the Eyewitness News format. Worth a watch:

  12. Josh Thomas is out at Tampa Bay's WFLA-TV (NBC). Last year, Thomas was demoted to full time reporter when Rod Carter was moved from mornings to weekend anchor last year and general assignment reporter raised questions on racial diversity. Thomas has been gone from the station for a couple of weeks, there's no word on why he left or where he's going. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/josh-thomas-out-at-wfla/173361

  13. I would think it's a safe bet that Byron will pick up the 4 (or at least split the hour with Brant). I think they do something like this (if no one is leaving/retiring)... Weekdays 4-7A: Andy Weekdays 11A & 4P: Byron (Brant too maybe) Weekdays 5P, 6P & 10P: Brant Weekends AM: Kalee Weekends PM: Alicia There will still be enough (with vacations, weather emergencies, etc..) for Pete to fill-in from time to time.

  15. If they want to gain a following for the midday (11 or Noon) they NEED to have a stable anchor team.. Same person or people all 5 days.. The most realistic and probable choice would probably be David Ushery and Kerry Berrett

  16. No. The first two sentences were commenting on the Fox package that Stephen Arnold station. The latter was assuring the validity of Tegna overhauling their branding. I don't know who will design the graphics or compose the theme.

  18. I don't understand why they would preempt half of the 5:00 p.m. newscast for this show. I'm not going to comment on the content of the program itself, but why not try a show like this on a weekend morning or even preempt half of the 9:00 GDNY hour on a summer Friday to air this? I guess we shouldn't be surprised; after all, this is a station that has regularly preempted the second half of the 10:00 p.m. newscast for "After Empire," and "Friday Night Live." I'm all for trying new things and experimenting, but the decision to preempt the news for this lifestyle/entertainment programming seems to send the message that Fox 5 isn't really serious about the news.
