  1. The Tom and Jerry analogy is funnier if you replace the cat and mouse with Skilling and Taft.

  2. A change on the morning show today. "Weather and Traffic on the 7s" is now "Weather and Traffic on ABC 7".

  3. She's already worked at WTOL - she was one of the folks let go during the Cards Against Humanity debacle. Totally agree that she deserves better.

  4. Sinclair may not own it yet but it's entirely likely that the management was sucking up to the new bosses here. Just because they haven't officially taken over yet doesn't mean station management isn't in communication with their new overlords.

  6. Sinclair would play the victim regardless of how the story was reported. I'm not defending the coverage here, but they would whine if these stories were impeccably handled, decrying them in chain-wide must-carry "editorials" as "FAKE NEWS!" Look at the broad-based reaction to Gabriel Sherman's coverage of Fox News as a precursor to any critical coverage of Sinclair. If you're a Republican, you'll blindly support Sinclair to the ends of the earth, without question. If you're a Democrat, you want Sinclair knocked down to size, if not run out of business. It's pretty cut-and-dry here.

  7. It's definitely looking better than the Litton E/I crap: http://kidsclicktv.com/ http://www.toonbarn.com/other-cartoons/take-sneak-peek-shows-headed-kidsclick-new-network-tv-morning-cartoon-block/ The shows are a mix of old and new. Some of them are making their U.S. broadcast debuts. It's a little surprising. This looks like an actual effort at reviving Saturday (and weekday) morning cartoons by Sinclair.

  9. Extremely likely. Bonten's editorial views are not that different from Sinclair's editorial views.

  11. KSBW in 2000. If you notice, only the talent rejoins and news opens at that time were from the camera mandate. Everything else was from their 1997 graphics package. But sometime later that year they completed the switchover.

  14. I have seen somewhere else (perhaps on this site) that a company called TAG made the ring graphics. Does anybody know what TAG stands for? And if TAG did not make it, might it have been made in-house?

  15. I was born in 2003, and I always lived in Phoenix, Arizona, like 4 other users I know of on this site. I never worked for Hearst-Argyle, and I'm only 14. So, I don't remember exactly when KOAT got their first H-A mandated set. However, I still want you to give me the NewsActive3 compilation showing WCVB's "transition" opens (camera graphics with Newsmusic Central package). There seems to be no other signs of it on YouTube.

  16. Which was called B Package at the time. The duopoly of KCRA and KQCA were the only known stations using this version of B Package, which had the Where The News Comes First signature. Around December 2014, B Package was renamed Revolution after WMUR and WIS (a Raycom station) stopped using it.

  21. I really like Tammie's demeanor, style, and balance. Tammie definitely brings a calm nature, not rushed like some of the other ones on the team. Not sure if it's just me, but I've noticed some of 10's Mets go overboard on numbers instead of delivering what's going on and they run out of time because of it. As far as Chief, I can definitely see that once Hurricane retires, whenever that will be, and I think it'd be a good move.

  22. Doubt it has anything to do with Tribune's pending sale to Sinclair, so it was likely for personal reasons that he didn't want to disclose at this time.

  23. Wow. I liked Scott, but somehow I feel his style is more suited for 60 Minutes than the CBS Evening News. As for a replacement, I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff Glor is at the top of the list. It gives them a fresh, younger look (he would be the youngest network news anchor at 41, two years younger than David Muir) and could help them gain more ground in the 25-54 demo.

  24. There had been rumors but this evening WREG's Richard Ransom appeared to confirm on Twitter that he has left the station effectively immediately. No reason given (but probably could make some educated speculation)

  26. Add New York Magazine to the list of misinformed sources... It's shoddy reporting like this that ENCOURAGES Sinclair that they are being unfairly targeted. In this case, they are. Any ammunition they can state as fact only makes their spreading of other falsehoods that much worse.

  27. Mannerino got anchor just the way I said it would happen. Clearly GM Chris Wayland is making alliances with Staff to protect him once Sinclair moves in = job security. Nothing to do with getting the best talent for the job to increase ratings. Just Maintain the Status Quo. Clearly now - Wayland is like the new face on Star Trek with the Red Shirt that gets beamed down to Planet PIX11 and gets eliminated. They spared Easterly as best they could by bringing him back to Chicago before Sinclair takes over. Meanwhile Wayland needs to get the staff to like him VIA Fear or Kissing Butt - before Sinclair comes in and lets him go
