Yeah, it has hit everyone in Atlanta pretty hard tonight. Amanda Davis was loved by so many in the Atlanta DMA.5 points

I agree with the newsreader position. They need it back since they really do not utilize Natalie as the “West Coast Anchor” like they originally said they would (a guise to say she’s really not leaving just expanding her role on the show). She’s basically not even on the show like that ( Same concept they said Ann was the Today Anchor At-Large). Bring in Craig, Willie, or even Shaniell?? to that position. I wonder if they’ll let Megyn Kelly to fill in on the first 2 hours of Today going further and has she did that yet?4 points

I wonder how WTVD got on the list? I don’t see anything that Peters communications did for WTVD on NMSA. It could be the WTVD 1979 news theme.4 points

Yesterday, Buffalo and Western New York had lost Irv Weinstein, now Atlanta has lost Amanda Davis. This in memory of Amanda. Our thoughts are with her family and her colleagues at FOX 5 (WAGA) and CBS 46 (WGCL) in this difficult time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=ahipdSW7fTQ;t=1433 points

The problem with Wichita is that the eras are scattered - KAKE has plenty from the 80s while KWCH has plenty from the 90s. As for KSNW, it’s the same as KAKE, yet the annoying part is that their 1986 newscast has no music on the open. KUTV of course has nothing at all, typical Salt Lake City. Peters, I think, wasn’t responsible for their mid 80s theme, but KUTV’s 1979 theme sounds a bit more like their work.2 points

Now that we have KSNT (though with painfully wrong music), so begins the search for one of my holy grails: the rest of the Hatch look of the mid-80s, with Welch graphics and set and potentially Peters music. Where shall I find it first, Salt Lake City or Wichita? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFYCcIcYp1k2 points

I don't think WAGT ever had an image campaign song for "26 Power". It was just a brand they used in the 1980s. Of course, I could be wrong.2 points

Such a double tragedy for newscasters who died outside tv. My prayers are with her friends, family and colleagues to Amanda.2 points

More Irv Weinstein tribute, from the first buffalo edition of p.m. magazine 19792 points

This is an utter lie. They're winning the demo and overall viewers since Matt left. That's their top news stories review but the Today Show moments year in review featuring the hosts smiling faces, bloopers, funny moments will almost undoubtedly not air this year. Editing Lauer out when he was present over 90% of the year would be tricky, but also very awkward.2 points
-
I’ve been wondering how they would do that when Matt Lauer has been apart of almost every major news story featured on the show before his termination.2 points

In the memory, in honor, and in tribute to a Buffalo news legend. In the memory of Irv Weinstein. WKBW 6pm 12/31/98 (Irv's Final Newscast).2 points

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhbIlMrNH9g Some Wichita news clips from 1994! No opens, but the rarity of these eras for KAKE and KSNW is worth watching. The very end of this clip is interesting too - KSNW still has its TvbD era logo but apparently has begun using “Newswire” around that time.1 point

I'm sure Ed Peters and his colleagues are very talented, but those station lists aren't exactly filled to the brim with longtime market leaders. Here's a demo reel from the site: https://nebula.wsimg.com/527ea4c42051bc1c7b87af5770ade007?AccessKeyId=66DF0260B5371BCE06BB&disposition=0&alloworigin=11 point

I love Estrella TV more than Telemundo in the 90's. Estrella has only one set for all it's shows... The only have one little person...but he does all the shows. And the only have 3 skanky go-go girls which get rotated all afternoon through all the various creepy shows. ...and a donkey...and a few chickens. Full Disclosure: I am 1/3 Mexican and I live near the border. I also once bought a "slimmer" thing off one of the ads they run....but it didn't work. (sad trumpet.wav)1 point

More on Peters: -Any station that used the "Alive" branding were or are Peters, it appears -Most of the Storer Broadcasting stations (Sorry WSBK/Boston) were clients as were the Combined Communications (the nucleus of Gannett nee Tegna) stations and "2 Together" was not Peters first rodeo with WJBK; I present this: Another Peters client also used that style 2, WNGE/ Nashville1 point

NBC is definitely going to get rid of Lauer's memory and mark in the years to come. I think the Today show is going to focus more on it's array of on air talent then trying to make anchors into stars. Right now the news is star and not the anchors. To me, Today show should go back to basics, focus on news and human interest. Stop trying to make the hosts interesting and make them stars. There seems to be no rush to have a male co-anchor. Network morning news nowadays is cotton candy programming.1 point

Well, if you had the equivalent of NBC or CBS running the station as an O&O with standard graphics across all of the stations, it can be done... And in typical fashion, news has been cut from 30 minutes to 15 minutes - granted, SP&M have access to more of the RFO is run by France Télévisions (France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, France Ô) - they're (IMHO) the 800-lb. Gorilla in French TV... J1 point

Yes. Hopefully your TRT is MM:SS and that’s 16 seconds too much. Unless it’s clips of foot in mouth segments like when she said to guy on Will and Grace that you became a lawyer and became gay or harassing Jane Fonda about plastic surgery.1 point
