1. I don't know what the heck is going on but I noticed that Lucy Noland is solo anchoring the 5 PM and 10 PM news and Iain page is solo anchoring the 6 and 11 PM news, Monday-Thursday for the last few weeks? What is going on?

 2. I forgot about this open, unique to KUVN. Used from 2003-2006.

 3. Wasn’t insinuating it. Just asking a question.

 4. I think she is gonna work the bad girl thing for a bit. The whole Jane Fonda thing generated plenty of hits, views and clicks across all the NBC platforms...and many others platforms. Some of these bonehead moves by NBC are actually kinda brilliant. Women love to spar, and TODAY and GMA are becoming "women only" spaces just like most of social media is. NBC and Kelly can afford to try new things, let them fight if it generates buzz and clicks. Heck let them start getting drunk at 8am if they want. It's not like TV news media really has to worry about credibility anyway.

 6. Well, they did or still do anchor the 4am newscast solo from the Weather Center. Maybe they could use it as a temporary two-seat anchor desk while the main desk area gets remodeled.

 7. WLS, Chicago; 10 p.m. (excerpts, including the close), 1971 -- a rare clip from the Flynn-Daly (Eyewitness) News-branded era:

 8. Lester Holt did a piece on North Korea. Considering the amount of time he was there they should've spend 3 days on the story instead of ultra editing it to a 4 minute segment.

 9. One of the biggest problems Megyn Kelly faces is that we really don’t know who ‘the real’ Megyn Kelly is. She was a different person when she was on FNC and said/did a lot of stupid things imo (‘Santa can only be White’, etc..). Now she is on NBC, she has attempted to clean up her image, but that’s tough to do when, for example, you’re an advocate for Women one day and attack an 80 yr. old Woman the next for no reason. This is only one incident/misstep she has made since arriving at NBC. I think she has never fully taken the time for some self-reflection in order to better herself. Granted that may sound like nonsense, but she would have been better off not taking the job at NBC and spending some time with her family out of the spotlight.

 11. WXYZ is still far and away the largest station in their portfolio. I would be astounded to see them unload it. If anything, WXYZ will be like WEWS, WMAR and WKBW... underperformers but still with value regardless. (Although WKBW's issues still mostly predate Scripps management.)

 12. That VTV open has some seriously impressive compositing work. Whoever made that got their money's worth out of their ADO! (and yes, it's just as weird for me seeing Alex Trebek in a role like that...)

 13. These two are not local news but they are worth your time. I must admit, today I learned what "The Morning Program" was. And this...just watch a bit of it. At least the open.

 15. In theory, they could do whatever/whenever they want. It’s not like the Winter Games are here in Chicago. Just because it’s sweeps means nothing. They are due for a remodel and could easily do what they have to do over the next several weeks without interruptions to their newscasts. Again, no one said a remodel is officially happening only that it APPEARS something more significant is taking place.

 17. Since there isn’t a dedicate WSNS thread did they get the same weather center as WMAQ or is this promo just filmed in the WMAQ studios. It appears about 11 seconds in.
