  1. How's that any different than Nightly News or Today being hosted from the Olympics host city?

  4. I can’t get over how ugly those handheld prompter controllers that TEGNA and FOX O&Os use. They’re literally all I can look at whenever I see them in use. You’d think due to their size they could motivate Autoscript to make a more discrete product.

  7. Along with 18 minutes of KIMT's 10pm news in 1994, you get a Buick commercial voiced by Ron Rolland and a commercial for Rod Grams's US Senate campaign (yes, that Rod Grams)!

  8. Yikes. I’m amazed she still has time to roll the prompter with all her jumping around.

  12. Certainly a bit unconventional to have WNT on the red carpet — prob a better fit to have Good Morning America broadcast from there — but, others have said, it’s no different from NBC having its flagship newscast originate from the Olympics, Super Bowls, etc. I did watch Sunday’s broadcast. There was a story about the Oscars pegged to the #MeToo movement and some mentions of potential historic wins that could happen by people of color and women — noteworthy news, in my opinion. Everything else was a standard broadcast just not out the the New York studio... and it gave a natural flow to ABC’s Oscar coverage which started earlier in the day.

  13. For the first time in years that I can remember, Good Morning America did not broadcast the entire show from Hollywood this morning following last night’s Oscars.

  15. Here's a video clip of a breaking news report from WXTV Univision 41 featuring their news helicopter, Unicoptero 41 which was sponsored by Groupo MedLegal. They also sponsored KMEX's Aguila Uno. Groupo Medlegal's YT channel has a whole bunch of videos of both WXTV and KMEX's news reports featuring their helicopters https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeR5GFC6MSw31_xME7QMCHA

  16. Don't judge me, but what the hell is Channel 2 doing with their top met spot? As hard as it was to bid adieu to Steve Baskerville, at least I was reassured they'd be rotating fill-ins until a permanent replacement was named. Instead, Mary Kay Kleist has shifted to weeknights (every single weeknight) and newcomer Robb Ellis fills-in for Mary Kay on weekends. Now don't get wrong, I know Mary Kay is beyond qualified and has put in her time and is deserving of the top spot. But so is Ed Curran and even Megan Glaros. It's just that Mary Kay lacks any appeal beyond what she offers on paper. Of course I don't want just another weather bunny, all I'm asking for is some personality, which I know Channel 2 detests. So I guess Mary Kay is very safe in that department. But I just don't get it. Ed is an asset to the station. And Megan is more than just a bunny. All I can hope is that Channel 2 has something up their sleeve and is just biding their time until they can make the move they really want to make. Like singing Mike Caplan (when is his contract up?). Or AMY FREEZE please! Chicago loved her, and she's been stuck on weekend mornings in NY forever. Come on back!

  17. So the law in your first post was they can’t work more than 5 days. But the law seems to have changed in the short time to your second post, which now says you can work 6 days. I understand there are labor laws that exists, but this is obviously made up stuff by you. Also, why is it that you only criticize NBC properties, specifically NN and Today?

  18. It's B.S. to think that everyone's required to have 2 days off each week. Heck, even at the local level, I've seen sports and weather anchors work 10+ days straight.
