  5. The Giant Octopus graphics are my favorite era of 10TV, mainly the 1996 opens with the theme that’d later be used for WFOR and the scrolling county names, and the 1998 open (first with TiYN) with the scrolling “wbns columbus ohio” and chopper shots of downtown.

  6. I usually like KDKA but that's a pretty crappy move. He didn't even get to say good bye on the air before they fired him. Probably not. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't WBAL and WIYY some of the best performing stations in Baltimore? I'm sure it's a cash cow for them.

  8. Very sad news indeed. Next to Dick Goddard, Don Webster was a fixture of WEWS, from hosting Upbeat, and even serving as the stations' general manager in the 1980s (when he ceded weather duties to Tom Tasslemyer). He returned to weather in 1989 and was the chief meteorologist for the next decade until his retirement. It's good to hear that Mark didn't disappear either...could he be going back to mornings?

  11. It’s the sale we all feared. No, not Cox; Television City. The current productions will remain for at least five years, after that: who knows. https://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/cbs-selling-television-city-studio-complex-for-750m
