  1. It's a very fresh look. Parts of it give off a CNN vibe, but maybe that's because of the chrome. Large displays, sharp corners, brightly lit (although with so much blue it feels cold) with occasional round elements to change it up. It has European elements that have been given an American flare. As for the graphics. They're certainly improved. It's a flashy flat look that doesn't go overboard. It's energetic.

  2. This demo reel from Jeff Hertrick offers a rare look at ill-fated Martinsburg, WV Fox affiliate WYVN's newscast. Also includes some clips of his time at WTOC. WYVN used the "USA News"-copycat production track "America's Station" from Firstcom.

  4. What do you mean? The bulk of the team being in NY, or the show being in DC. Every studio CBS Broadcast Center is booked. The only place I think they could use to switch out sets would be using the CBS Sports Studio. They’ve used the studio before for a few of their town halls they did during sweeps. But the news division doesn’t have any other major studio space except for Studio 33 which I imagine is just a chroma key studio for 60 Minutes. Studio 45 which is half Inside Edition’s virtual set and half hard set for Sunday Morning which I don’t think they dare touching (aside from maybe painting and technological upgrades has it changed from the beginning). And Studio 57 is the bulk of their operations. There are also two studios converted into newsrooms - Studio 57 and Studio 47. The rest of the space is booked. 41 - The Mel Robins Show 42 - Last Week Tonight, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Desus & Mero 43 - CBS Sports 44 - CBS Sports Network 46 - WCBS/WLNY.

  6. I simply cannot imagine MCTYW surviving, not with out stringent Tegna is on it's look.

  8. As far as WATN goes, it's not really like getting bought by Tegna could make things much worse. But stations like KFSM have a lot to lose by being under Tegna ownership. For example, KFSM has been a reliable news station for years in NW Arkansas. Now, Tegna might change that. And as for WNEP, Tegna would be incredibly foolish if they dumped MCTYW as their theme. The viewers will not be happy if they did, and I wouldn't blame them. It's a great theme and a great asset to the station. At the least, I'd expect the station to get standardized with graphics. We'll see what Tegna does about the music, but I'm not holding my breath much that Tegna makes the wise call

  9. I think that all of the ex-Tribune/Nexstar stations that Tegna got have fallen through the cracks of attention outside of the potential situation brewing in NEPA.

  11. Last week Tuesday, News 12 Bronx/Brooklyn debuted the weather graphics. It's similar to WPIX's weather graphics and the other N12's don't have them yet. However sad news for the News 12 Bronx/Brooklyn family, former lead anchor Kevin McCabe passed away today. He was with Cablevision for over 30 years and with N12BX from day one from '98 to '17. http://bronx.news12.com/story/41408638/former-news-12-anchor-kevin-mccabe-passes-away

  14. Even if it is fully based in D.C. and "all about Norah", what difference would it make? Nothing of the move would change much the show's bottom line anyway. Plus she lives there with her family anyway, so...
