  1. BTM0815MA has been on a tear when it comes to rare news uploads. This leads me to most of a **RARE** WITN newscast from December 31st, 1980. And if you are a Weather Channel viewer, you may recognize this former OCM (on-camera meteorologist).

  3. I love the show, but even I'll admit that this has to be the funniest thing the WGN Morning News has pulled off in years. Producer Jeff Hoover has some of the backstory in the video's description.

  7. 2 different WOI-5 logos in 5 years. Wow. And only providing food to staff out of a vending machine. Stay classy, Tegna.

  9. But theyd have to get a new font. And besides, I myself think that WFAA losing its ABC affiliation is unlikely, and WFAA wont become an ABC O&O (channel 7 and the circle 7 logo were already taken by KLTV for one thing), at least not anytime soon.

  10. I figured that part. But in that case, TEGNA should add their ABC affiliates to the ABC all access livestream. I checked and WFAA (and other ABC affiliates owned by TEGNA I assume) isnt on there. And I would think that the reason ABC hasnt bought any stations is because there isnt an opportunity for that to happen yet. Also, I never said WFAA would become an ABC O&O, just that it would switch to either NBC or CBS by either one of them selling their respective O&Os, but at this point, the chances of that happening are extremely slim. For one thing, NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 are both housed in the same building as well as DFW being one of the top #10 TV markets in the nation, and while you could say the same thing of CBS 11 and TXA 21, they could be sold off to ABC a lot easier. Thing is, CBS isnt that willing to part with said duopoly in part seeing as how the building housed there is called the CBS Tower, among a few other reasons (yet, as mentioned in another thread, like most CBS O&Os, CBS 11 isnt #1 or #2 in the ratings most of the time), not to mention its more likely for TXA 21 to become CW 21.

  11. I know this might sound stupid because its not likely to happen, but if for whatever reason, TEGNA decides not to renew its affiliation agreement with ABC in 2018 for most, or even any of its stations, how are they going to manage that? This would be especially problematic for WFAA with the other big 4 affiliates being O&Os of their respective networks, and the only way for affiliation switch to be possible would be for either NBC or CBS to sell their stations to ABC, which in itself is unlikely to happen (TXA 21 becoming a CW O&O is more likely to happen). And I wonder about TEGNA's other ABC affiliates if that happens. Like I said though, I think its an unlikely scenario.

  12. Sad news this time from across the pond again. Television Presenter Caroline Flack, 40, was found dead of an apparent suicide yesterday. She was the host of Britain's most popular show of the moment, ITV 2's Love Island. She was awaiting trial in a domestic assault case in March. She pled not guilty. However that case turned into a circus on part of the media (the sun, daily mail) + allegedly (by Flack's lawyer) Crown Prosecution Service (equivalent much to Dept. of Justice in U.S) for pressing forward trial despite her boyfriend wishing not to press charges. She later stepped down from hosting LI before this new season commenced a while ago. Door was open for her return once the trial settles. Her vulnerability on the spotlight as been well documented. It was a whirlpool that was sudden + threw everyone off. ITV has since pulled two consecutive nights (last night + tonight) of Love Island off schedule. No word on future episodes or if the series will continue under Flack's shadow? Flack was the face of the show, and her death is the third suicide from the show, joining two former contestants whose fate was eerily the same. If you or someone you know is facing depression, someone is out there to listen to you. Have strength to seek help if you can. Unfortunately in cases like this, it's a vicious cycle where one's vulnerability is exposed + magnified in the spotlight + on social media that it sped up on its breaking point which sadly brought this result. Also, quite hypocritical of those judging on her love life or life of the party (read:"cougar") are now sending condolences + wishing others to be kind. Got a bit of blood on their hands, i'm afraid. I'm of the belief right now there's no end in sight for this. At this time strength to Caroline's friends + family. https://www.itv.com/news/2020-02-15/caroline-flack-itv-love-island-presenter-found-dead/ Note: National Suicide Prevention Lifeline phone number: 1-800-273-8255
