  5. Will be interesting to see what changes Rashida makes to MSNBC. Phil was at NBC/MSNBC for so long.

  7. Not breaking (announced earlier last week), but Tiffany Cross and Jonathan Capehart will be taking over for the weekend morning slot last permanently filled by Joy Reid (10AM-12PM). Tiffany will anchor Saturdays and Jonathan will anchor Sundays. These will be two separate branded shows and not just the same show led by two different people. [Link 1] and [Link 2]

  8. Another development here, but for Tallahassee: Gray launched WNXG (Me TV) as a new 3.0 station that will serve as the "hub" for WFXU/WCTV, which includes CBS, depending on the call sign. The full launch for 3.0 is expected sometime next year.

  9. Speculation not over. Where exactly are they going to fit her into that already jam-packed evening lineup? Most stations seem to be making cuts, this one just keeps adding.

  11. Another example of WSVN "influence," this time from a station Canada -- a bit subtler than the ones above, but still obvious:

  12. I noticed that KXII finally updated the weather graphics to Gray's new style to match the newscasts graphics after using the previous graphics since 2015.

  14. Gray has similar lower thirds at some of their stations, but it seems to be a common trend to have the adjustable boxes for the top lower third. NBC's Today, the ABC O&O's, and others have been doing it for a while, as well.

  15. That is likely because WDIO's graphics were also made by Linear Drift per my source.

  20. Cinemagic likely made the WRNN open too...but yes, definitely more than an open designer there.

  21. Idk if this has already been posted...but in the mid-2000s, WRNN ripped off WMAR's early 2000s look right down to the slogan.

  22. Also in memory of Phyllis, here's the Week 2 1981 edition of The NFL Today on CBS: And also football-related, here are two vintage editions of an NFL highlight show from 1954 on the old DuMont network called Time For Football, w/Jim Leaming:

  23. Once again, the station has lost its way! The inclusion of network and syndication personalities is not what the Channel 4 "Sing-A-Long" is all about. It's local!!!!!! A number of years ago, they strayed and keyed-in an animated character that "just so happened" to be the star of a Universal Christmas movie! When I questioned management about commercializing this New York tradition, I was told that it had nothing to do with promoting a Universal movie. When hearing that, I offered to sell the exec a bridge connecting lower Manhattan to another borough.
