I Noticed in the middle of this article about November sweeps (https://www.nexttv.com/features/local-news-start-spreading-the-news-and-theres-lots-of-it) this line...(New York stations are hustling to get ahead in the busy market. WNBC and WNJU are moving in together. WNBC is in Rockefeller Center and WNJU in Fort Lee, New Jersey. They will share the second floor of 30 Rockefeller Center starting in fall 2023, with the massive workspace extending from 49th Street to 50th Street. It represents the final duopoly in the NBC group to co-locate. “We are excited about the collaboration that will happen between departments and department heads,” said Schwarz, who noted that WNJU will maintain a presence in New Jersey. “I’m excited to be next to Eric every day." Lerner mentioned a “gorgeous, state-of-the-art, open news operation. It’s two television stations coming together in a way that we’ve never been able to before. Both stations really deserve a new home.”) ...not sure if anyone has posted about it on here yet but I wonder if this means they are building new studios, newsrooms, etc on the 2nd floor? Combined? Studios with windows? What's on the 2nd floor now?2 points

Update to the Hearst Media Production Group news: the Litton name is being retired, as HMPG becomes a unified producer for all Hearst-derived TV programming. Litton's website now redirects to a subpage on Hearst's site. Three Litton alumi are taking executive roles in the new subsidiary (founder Dave Morgan and CCO Peter Sniderman retired at the end of last year): Former Litton CCO Bryan Curb is now executive vice president and general manager of E/I programming. Angelica Rose McDaniel, formerly exectctive VP of strategy and creative development, will oversee entertainment. Chris Matthews has been named CFO, more or less the same role he had before.2 points

Good old WNEP. For all of the love the music gets across Northeastern and ALL of Central Pennsylvania... They still get the callers who can't stand when the lottery numbers come on...2 points

In an interview with tvnewser they said they will air clips with Matt layer since he was on the show for so long. I doubt any interview but will see him in clips1 point

The FCC seems content with an obsolete and broken status quo regarding E/I and Hearst has a practical Industrial Complex to keep it alive because without it they'd be hosed.1 point

MLBN/NHL is in the former MSNBC space in Secaucus in the Hartz Mountain development, where the WWOR studios once were. Fort Lee is up the road by the George Washington Bridge. 6A is also a possibility for WNJU (the old Megan Kelly space), which has been used by The Tonight Show and its Peacock kid's version since then.1 point

MLB Network is in that space. Wiki says so is NHL Network. Unless I'm mistaken and NBC used two NJ locations.1 point

Congrats to Patrick on working his way back to the anchor chair after all this time with WGN!1 point

A younger Scott Stovall on KNDO/KNDU's Late Edition news, from Veterans Day 1996 (he's been at KEPR now for several years). Part of the KTXL (Sacramento) NewsPlus from July 31st, 1985, Andy Asher the anchor: and a little clip of INN's USA Tonight, taped 6/12/88 off KNDO-23 Yakima with Marvin Scott (no local news on weekends).1 point

I'd be surprised if they kept Rick at 10. Not to call the 10 team the "b" squad", but I get the feeling they'd like to keep their "premiere" talent on the 11 and have a separate team they can highlight on the 10 (and give viewers another reason to flip over to 6 at 11). Plus, I would be surprised if Rick isn't also named to the 6pm once that time comes at the end of the year. If he does drop the 10, the question would be- who gets the 10? Taff has already been shifted off to earlier in the day. Bring Walter Perez to weeknights? Call up Gray Hall from weekend mornings?1 point

Gray is fetching another LP just south of Nashville. They're getting Lewisburg's WFET-LD (formerly W29DM-D) from Lora Bailey for $125K. This feels like WOIO. Getting the LPs in these hard to reach places. Or areas where they can't receive the main signal.1 point

He's been a good fixture in NYC politics news for a very long time. Although, he states that he is not a New Yorker, but when you been here for 20+ years in this business makes you live and breathe New York. Happy retirement to a class act reporter.. There are plenty of rising stars in the other ABC affiliates who can definitely fill Dave Evans shoes.1 point

Oh wow thats Major. He was such a great reporter! Class act. They have some tough shoes to fill!1 point

Dave Evans is retiring from Eyewitness News after 22 years. It was announced on the 6pm news.1 point

Oklahoma’s “no non-competes” law really does help talent wreak havoc on their stations when they just pick up and cross the street and I’m here for the drama.1 point

It's all over the news in the Bay Area. It's Frank Somerville. Sucks for him, but no need to withhold his name. If he didn't want to make the headlines, he shouldn't have gotten behind the wheel while intoxicated. I hope he gets help. www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/bay-area-tv-anchor-frank-somerville-arrested-on-suspicion-of-dui/1 point

I'm a little bummed about WTHR getting Tegnafied (on top of everything else), so it's really nice to see WNEP being the little corner of the Tegna empire that is still kinda doing its own thing. I saw WNEP's stuff a few times when visiting family years ago, but I also completely forgot about Talkback 16 (I remember seeing clips on Last Week Tonight a few years ago)—the criticism and praise of the graphics from random people was just....perfect. Also, I just realized with WNEP being owned by Tribune previously, they were using the graphics that I think started at WTTV...it looks like they left the swirling CBS logo background in a few places hoping people wouldn't notice?!1 point

Must be the bedlam from "working from home" But I made a tongue-in-cheek promo for WNEP, much like all of the other stations have been cranking out the past few days. WNEP SPEC.mp41 point

Big departure coming to D.C. Longtime WTTG Meteorologist Sue Palka is retiring on March 23 after over 36 years at channel 5. She stated that while she's retiring from her weather duties, she could still be involved in some feature reporting & some live events from time to time.0 points

WYFF weekday morning anchor Geoff Hart announced that he has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and will not be returning to the station (effectively announcing his retirement from broadcasting). Hart has been with the station since 1993, serving as sports director before transferring to the news side in 2011 as anchor of WYFF News 4 Today. He had been on medical leave from the station since December.0 points
