  1. Why the hell does anyone seem to like this on YT? This is just TOO busy and inconsistent, even the lower thirds are hard to look at and don't get me started on the intro! Trust me I like 3D news opens these days but this is NOT how you do it! Who approved this and Areil, KHNL is the only station that it works with!

  2. I don't know if this means anything, but Heather O'Rourke did a taped report on the many events happening in Manhattan this weekend, and the graphics seemed a bit different than the other graphics throughout the newscast. I'm in the NYC TV market for the weekend, so I don't watch WABC all the time, have their traffic graphics always looked a little different than their other graphics?

  3. That logo was much better as a circle. Never liked the rectangle treatment all that much.

  4. I'm not too fond of the tall/thin fonts... reminds me of what KOIN had used before they updated... the smaller that font gets, the harder it is to read.... I give it a meh...

  5. I process the cable bills for work, and Comcast charges $18.95 per month as a “broadcast TV Fee” - this is on top of the package to get cable channels. It’s ludicrous! At home, I have an antenna in the attic and get both DC and Baltimore locals - more than I’d get with cable… Jim

  6. Honestly I was not a fan of WLS's last weather graphics so these are a welcomed change! I do hope the lower thirds look just as nice and a suitable open is used. You said this before the weather graphics debuted but probably the same old bowl of soup. Random philly shots, end it with something that looks better as promo or return from commercial but with the new graphics

  9. Wow that extended forecast WLS is using brings back late 90’s vibes. KGTV used something similar before. also KGO and KABC still haven’t updated its abc on-air bug on its newscasts. However regular programming and promos have the updated version.

  10. Not a fan of the graphics. The sound effect for the “forecast first” is annoying, the clutter underneath the lower thirds is unnecessary, and a lot of elements give me $34 VideoHive vibes. I’m mostly fine with the other Nexstar packages, but this one just isn’t great IMO.

  11. Looks decent…for 2010. Maybe it’s just me, but imho both the graphics and music are a downgrade from what they replaced. They both look/sound well past their expiration date, and they just debuted. If only Tribune’s creative services team was kept…

  16. Noticed this on KITV's updated website today. WEWS called. They want their logo back. Haha. Also to keep it with the thread, new abc logo added for tax.
