  1. So that's what Sue Simmons was asking when she wondered what 'the f**k you doing?!'.

  2. Crazy, was thinking about this today. I was having a discussion with a family member — who retired early — and is very big on people of a certain age calling it quits to enjoy retirement. The way I see it, when you love and are passionate about a career, you aren't rushing to leave. All things considered, when one retires, what is there to do at home? Chuck aside, in the average citizen's case, retirement often means sitting at home, watching daytime television, and waiting for the eventual. Especially if their family doesn't live close and their friends aren't in good health or have passed, going to work is what gives many of the elderly the drive to keep going. In Chuck's case, I'm sure he has decent wealth to travel and live well. We aren't privy to his personal life, so I'll guess that he really just loves his job. It pays well, isn't physically taxing, and simply requires him to sit and read a pre written script for about 22 minutes excluding commercials. Plus, Chuck's usually on about 3 out of 5 nights a week. As long as he remains in good health and isn't demanding any dramatic salary increases, lets see how long he can go for.

  3. I don’t know if anyone knows the composer, but you probably remember it from this WKBW promo.

  4. This won’t be an “overnight” change like in 1986 - as that change was a complete overhaul of the logo and IIRC, it took effect immediately. this one, like the ABC logo update, is small enough that both variations will probably be floating around for years… Jim

  5. Not a fan of dropping the white fill. As very clearly seen in NBC's own promos, feathers get lost depending on the color scheme. Might've been better served to make the feathers bigger and lessen the negative space.

  7. WarnerMedia sold the building in 2021 and even with a lease agreement, WBD has every incentive to move everything back to Techwood as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  8. It's official. The station posted an article of them retiring. I hope they give a send off for them after all the years. I been watching the station since the early 90s and will miss them.

  9. It was the only remaining news program that originated from Atlanta. Without it they could proceed on moving everything back to Techwood and do all the stuff @Weeterstalked about just a few posts earlier. Which of course will result in quite a few of those 1,500 people losing their jobs, which sucks. My point still stands.

  10. First Linda MacLennan, back in the fall, and now some of these familiar faces. We're officially living in a timeline where WBBM has a decent relationship with some former on-air talent, and I never thought I'd see the day.
